On Tuesday, Indianapolis Star columnist Bob Kravitz told PFT Live that "I can promise you that [the Colts] have already reached out to Jeff Fisher." A short time after PFT blew up that "promise" all over the World Wide Web, Kravitz scrambled onto Twitter and tried to say that he never said the Colts had reached out to Fisher (even though he, you know, did say that).
When that excuse didn't sound logical, he then tweeted that he might have "misspoke." Now, Bob is backing off the Fisher-to-Colts almost entirely. Here's Bob on Twitter again:
Getting the impression that while Jeff Fisher is intriguing, but probably not real high on the Colts priority list at this pt. Could change
So, in the span of two days, we went from a promise that the Colts have already talked to Fisher to "not real high on the Colts priority list."
Yeah. I totally buy that, Bob. Totally.
Either Bob's sources aren't giving him accurate information, or he was just making that stuff up when be blabbed to Mike Florio that the Colts have already talked to a head coaching candidate even though they have yet to fire their current head coach, Jim Caldwell. Or, maybe Bob should watch what he says a bit more carefully when he chit-chats with national media.
Again, I like Bob and he has done great work covering the Colts in recent years, but the "misspoke" excuse is pretty laughable.

Thank you Brad--
Thank you for seeing this for what it was. Kravitz clearly tried to get in front of a story that wasn’t there. I also think partly it was his wish for Fisher to come to Indy than led to him saying this.

Never understood the hype about Fisher
He coached a long time for one team but he got them to a certain level and nothing more. Bill Cowher,s resume is better if he can be gotten. I think there was no chance for that with Polian here but thats not a problem now. If he’s not interested I would rather see a young gun if its going to be a total rebuild. I don’t know names but surely they are out there.

if were going full rebuilding mode
we should take Mike Zimmer from the bengals

agree 100%
fans see the name but his record is woeful, defenses always had mental breakdowns, and even with a MVP QB never really did much except that one year with the “music city miracle”. Dare I say I rather keep Caldwell and get him better assistants than get a coach 5-6 in the playoffs.

I can see why people including BP or other media would not take Kravitz seriously by doing these types of reporting, which lets face it I’ve followed Kravitz for a while and this is not the first or the last time. It makes the other journalist in Indiana who actually do a good job have to work that much harder not to be clumped in with his style of reporting.
Straight Out The Burbs - January 5, 2012
the most laughable part
is that the professional writer typed ‘misspoke’ when ‘misspoken’ was the proper tense of the word

he tweeted...'and if I misspoke'...
I don’t think there’s any mistakes in saying that.

Oh ha
I didn’t read his tweet. Just whatever was in this article. Ops

Bob Kravitz is pathetic
His posts recently have been simply pathetic.
Roesler - January 6, 2012
Kravitz frequently makes mistakes
and is often very defensive about his position on things usually does not admit mistakes, and in my opinion is the biggest ass of the sporting staff the otehr are all decent guys
OBGYNOSUPREME - January 5, 2012
He flip flops so much
that he comes off as being right because he will just change his mind until it becomes accurate.
