For all of you readers out there freaking about about a possible influx of blue sweater vests on sale soon at the Colts pro shop, Chris Widlic of local Indianapolis TV station WISH-TV has some happy news to report:
My sources tell me the #colts will NOT hire Jim Tressel as head coach

In case you don't know who Widlic is, he joined the WISH-TV sports staff in December 2003.
Tressel as a coaching candidate is a hot button topic for many Colts fans. Most who have replied here and on Twitter tell me they hate the idea of him coaching in Indy.
It will be interesting to see if Indianapolis Star columnist Bob Kravitz comes after Widlic for posting "rumors" on Twitter the way he has lashed out in recent weeks at people like sports radio host Jake Query and St. Louis Post-Dispatch writer Jim Thomas.
Even more interesting is if Widlic is correct in his report.

This isn't a knock on Brad because I dont want banned!
But I am beginning to think that some of these stories and sources are just stating what they are hoping for. Brad can only report what he hears but I think there is an element where people will be semi-honest to hope that the Colts have put the kibosh on JT!
Basically if it is reported it will become real. there have been a lotta BS reports and unname sources from the media TV and blogosphere throughout this whole regime change…
As we know Irsay is gring to do what he wants in the end. Hopefully he hires Zimmer, but after Zimmer I prefer Tress to the other options
I don’t think this site lies but I think some of the reports that end up here are flat out lies…

Childress is hardly a failure
With him as the coach the Vikings went from 6 to 8 to 10 to 12 wins in his first 4 seasons. Then they start 3-7 and he gets fired after he’s a Favre interception away from the Super Bowl (and we all know they should have won that game). They were not having a good year by any means at 3-7, but after 2 straight playoff appearances I have to question the thinking there (especially since they go 3-13 the next year without him). Honestly, I wouldn’t be opposed to Childress. Not sure why he has a bad reputation.
Mornenwhig’s not my favorite head coach candidate, but he’s molded together a very good offense in Philly. Yeah he sucked it up in Detroit, but Matt Millen was his GM. Enough said.

Seems like everyone hates him including Vikings fans. Maybe he’s just not a players coach.
Zimmer or Carmichael should be the coach anyway.

Originally I was like “offensive coordinator of the Saints? Sean Payton runs that offense”. But now I’ve warmed up to him. Doesn’t hurt to come from a great organization like the Saints, it helps to learn under Sean Payton, and have experience with Drew Brees and that offense. Plus he ended up calling plays for a lot of last year and we all know how that worked out for the Saints.

makes sense because….
He offers some continuity in time of change.
He has been a winning head coach….most first time head coaches don’t pan out.
He should have an informed opinion on team personnel which could make him ideal as Grigson partner.

How many people work in the Colt’s organization that might know something? Is the window washer? laundry guy? gardner? Do reporters make friends with the janitor and then get their cell phone number? This is madness.
