No, the title is not there simply to garner attention.
Bill Polian is a genius in the draft room and at evaluating talent. However, as a public relations man, which is one of the essential responsibilities of the Present of the Indianapolis Colts, Bill Polian is a complete and utter failure. These are the quotes from Polian after the game, courtesy of the NFL:
TEAM PRESIDENT BILL POLIAN (on how tough is that call when you’re ahead in the game and you have a perfect season): "The perfect season was never an issue with us. We’ve said it time and time and time again. It is somebody else’s issue, not ours. That was of no concern."TEAM PRESIDENT BILL POLIAN (on it seeming to be the fans issue): "Well, I understand that, but it doesn’t mean that it is ours."
So, to you fans that braved inches of snow and heavy winds to watch your then-undefeated Colts possibly win a game and move to 15-0 only to see the team pull starters for no acceptable reason, Bill Polian says screw you.
To you fans who shelled out hundreds of dollars to watch the game, and you other fans who shelled out thousands of dollars for season tickets during a recession only to see the team quit and hand the game to the Jets, Bill Polian says screw you.
To the the residents of Indiana, who paid hundreds of millions in taxpayer money to fund Lucas Oil Stadium, only to watch the coaches quit on a game that was very winnable... yeah, pretty much the same as the last two.
Basically, in two simple phrases, the "issues" of fans (you know, the customers who watch the team and pay for the stadium and all that) are not the issues of the Colts and Bill Polian. Whatever problems you silly little peons might have with your team throwing a game and crapping away a chance at football immortality, they are pretty much reading a blank on the Bill Polian radar. For you French history enthusiasts out there, Bill Polian just told the peasants to eat cake.
Thanks Bill. Appreciate it.
Bill Polian just dug his own grave. If the Colts do not win the Super Bowl this year after resting players and throwing a game they should have won, fans will scream for him to be removed as president of the team. I shudder to think what fans will do if Indy goes one-and-done, again. Polian would be run out of town. Yes, I'm dead serious. I know Indiana and I know how Hoosiers think. The fans wanted the Colts to play to win. They expected it. They'd watched the Colts do it against the Jaguars and, after ten days of rest, they expected the team to do the same thing again. Instead, fans that paid good money to see a truly competitive football game were essentially spit on by the Colts organization.
Polian's arrogance and his dismissal of fan concerns nearly got him fired in 2001, among other things. What saved his career in Indy, and likely his reputation, was Tony Dungy. Dungy excelled at being the "front man." He was very good at soothing Fan concerns because he genuinely cared.
Polian doesn't.
Now, with Dungy gone, Bill's back to saying things like the concerns of the fans are not the concerns of the Colts. That's pretty much an open invitation for the public to boo you every time you show your face in public, Bill. Honestly, Jim Irsay needs to lock Bill up somewhere and never, EVER let him talk to the media or the fans again. Polian is a masterful talent evaluator. We all respect his ability to build football teams. But, he just has a very annoying habit of acting like a prick. This time around, he better be right and the Colts better win it all. Because if he isn't, and the Colts lose in the playoffs, fans will never forgive or trust him ever again.
[UPDATE]: AOL Fanhouse also seems to think Polian's comments were belittling to fans:
Polian said he understood why the fans were booing: "If I were in row 20, I would probably be rooting for that, too. Football logic has to come into play at some point in time.''
Did you hear that, Colts fans? You are too stupid to understand football.
'Coltsthink' knows better.

I lost a lot of faith in this guy today
It was a coward call, and his answer was even worse. When some of us were already in teh “acceptance” phase, reading this returns me to the “anger” one.
The fans put money in this idiots pocket, I bet that is his issue right? So fuck you Polian for spitting in our faces, specially those who attended the game.
BlueMark1821 - December 27, 2009
and people were defending him
hes great and hes been let slide a lot of times
805 - December 28, 2009
fans lost out...
You are better to just play it out. These guys are going to sit for 3 weeks? And still be on top of their game? I could understand next week in the cold in Buffalo, but why even bother playing 3 quarters? It is a rip to the fans who pay all of the bills. The home team deserved better.
serf_tide - December 28, 2009
Meh..
I love the Colts and try to keep my dignity and whatnot and even I texted back “screw you Polian” to my auto texts updates from the Colts.
Oh well, could be worse- we could have lost to the Bucs with our starters. Perspective, people lets keep it.
GO COLTS!
peytonsthebest - December 28, 2009
You know what
I would prefer that. At least the Saints tried to win.
Brad Wells - December 28, 2009
big fucking +1
thats fuckin right at least they tried to win
805 - December 28, 2009
in 05 the Colts tried to win
huge difference. This? This was just pathetic
BlueMark1821 - December 28, 2009
I actually agree with you.
I feel like we lost our heart today.
/doing that whole talking myself into something thing…uhg.
peytonsthebest - December 28, 2009
yea, its what I keep saying to all the 'LOL REST IS GOOD YOU MORANS" guys
I dont care that we lost. DONT CARE. I dontttttt care.
I hate that we quit. Dont quit. DO NOT QUIT. DO OOOOOOO NOT QUIT.
SpazMo - December 28, 2009
In my head I keep hearing Jim Mora say, “You think you know, but you don’t know.” I’m trusting Polian on this one.
bohephus - December 28, 2009
PLAYOFFS!!!!!!!!! PLAYOFFS!!!!!!!!!! YOU TALKIN ABOUT PLAYOFFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i cant wait when caldwell those a speech like that
805 - December 28, 2009
15-0, 15-0? You talking about 15-0? I just wanna win the Super Bowl!!!
bohephus - December 28, 2009
hahahahha touche
805 - December 28, 2009
lol
BlueMark1821 - December 28, 2009
I agree
but the big picture here is Super Bowl. 19-0 would be fantastic, no doubt. But honestly, who didn’t see this coming? The Colts have rested the starters for years. I paid 300 bucks 2 years ago to watch Manning play 1 quarter against the the Titans I wasn’t happy, but the Super Bowl is the ultimate goal here.
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
It's because of the way the JAX game was handled. There was an assumption (and I think it was a fair one) that all games were going to be played like that.
I really think that is the origin of this reaction.
vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
The Jacksonville game
was a division game…this was not. Id rather play the Jets in the playoffs than the Jaguars
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
See, that was kind of my "inner reasoning" for why we would play this the same way.
We could have been undefeated in our new home for the first time. I think that’s a pretty solid reason.
I think fan reaction would have been alot softer if Manning had only played three quarters last week. Of course, we would have probably lost then too…
vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
And you know what
we would all be bitching about the loss last week. Probably more so because it was a divisional game.
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
Yea, we would. Well, alot of us would. ...but hey, what's done is done.
vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
Exactly!
so whats all this bitching gonna do about it? Not a damn thing.
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
Amen brother.
I love everyone’s passion, I’d just like it to be tempered with a little more perspective.
vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
Everyone
had written the Colts off before the season. They weren’t expected to even make the playoffs. Basically the Colts would suck more than Paris Hilton. But look where we are. 14 and freakin 1, Division Champs, and the road to Miami goes through Indy…and people are bitching. Teams would KILL to be this good right now
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
for me its not that we lost that gets me riled up it is that they basically quit or at least the staff (polian and caldwell did)
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
People are bitching because it looked like we just quit.
I know we’re sitting pretty in the playoffs, and all of this will go away when we win our first playoff game, but right now, it hurts.
Indy Lori - December 28, 2009
but his response and "care not" about the fans angers me somewhat
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
Outsmarted again
The Colts have OUTSMARTED themselves…..Again.
Good job.
williezag - December 28, 2009
I think he didn't say anything wrong..
but he didn’t say the right thing either. I trust Polian, and I don’t think we should ever fire him…even if we lost.
fpacheco - December 28, 2009
Bill Polian is the reason why this team even had a chance to go undefeated in the first place.
KingRichard - December 28, 2009
Can I ask a question??
And seriously, I could care less about the Colts not playing their starters. I wish they would have, because I like seeing the best try and be the best, but otherwise….
If what Polian say is true, if what Caldwell says is true, then why start Manning at all? Of course, the reason is the consecutive games streak – the guy hasn’t missed a game his entire career – which is the irony of it all – protecting a guy that hasn’t missed a regular season game….ever.
If the only reason to start Manning is to keep that streak alive, then BBS is right – this is a huge F-U to the fans. Manning’s personal streak – while a reason for pride amongst Colts fans – is hardly the achievement going undefeated would be, just ask Mercury Morris!
Just curious as to what Colts fans think – If getting a team accomplishment – like going undefeated – is not “their issue”, why is an individual accolade? An injury could happen on play #1 just as easily as play #61
John Bena - December 28, 2009
if manning plays more than half the first quarter ima fucking have a migrane
805 - December 28, 2009
My points exactly.
They let him get his 50K yards today. They’ve allowed so many friggin’ “records” it isn’t even funny. Then, this?
/yep definitely still angry
peytonsthebest - December 28, 2009
Good point
So, it’s OK for a player to play, say, two or three series so he can gain a personal achievement, but it is not an issue for the Colts to do things that the fans care about, like, say GOING UNDEFEATED?
Good points, John.
Brad Wells - December 28, 2009
i still cant understand if peyton gets what he wants most of the time why didnt he just say i want to go in and thats final
805 - December 28, 2009
Because Mannings a bro
And he doesn’t argue with his head coach. period.
Coltstar18 - December 28, 2009
which is also doing something that is a team achievement
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
there is a good reason why Manning played into the 3rd quarter today
and it just wasn’t personal accolades. One reason was to get Brown refamiliar with how Peyton works. Early in the season Brown was lost in the backfield on shotgun plays. Brown has been out for the last couple games and I for one do not want Brown to be a liability in pass protection. Brown came up huge multiple times stepping into pass protection tonight. I’m sure tonight will be very valuable come playoffs.
MarkFive05 - December 28, 2009
if that was the case why did he hardly take a carry in the second half cause we pretty much stopped rushing after the first half when painter went in
which made no sense if you were trying to win. why would you ask painter to throw so much and not run the ball
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
Brown went out when Painter went in
Simpson came in then, as for the play calling, I dunno. That’s just how I see it.
MarkFive05 - December 28, 2009
ok but my point is i saw no running after painter came in with anyone
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
yeah playcalling, I don't have an answer for you
but they did go 3 and out a number of times so there wasn’t very many plays
MarkFive05 - December 28, 2009
correct almost all were passes which in turn ment painter was forced to throw the ball against the #! D because no runs
were called. i dont know if you saw but i noticed on at least one occasion him forcing it into triple coverage, do i need to say it agian lol it was dumb. how do they not use the run when they put a 3rd string QB in. your just asking for it when you do that
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
i do agree with you bena on that. i dont really think he should be fired but something needs to be changed in that regard mabye he does
need to go idk. i mean he has done so much for this franchise but if he doesn’t care about us fans then are we better off going another way or should he not care?
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
Who know's TSG.
I feel they just threw the game. They could have played the 3rd quarter, they could have not come out in the 2nd half. Instead, they set Curtis Painter up by having him play his first series inside the 15 yard line. Accolades! Today Manning eclipsed the 50,000 yard passing mark in less games and at an earlier age. They showed his picture with great quarterbacks like Favre, Marino, and Elway. Then they have the nerve to pull him and let the team lose like this! What an insult to everyone to ever play the game and to all those champions that he shares this honor. This is the ultimate insult for me as a colts fan and a fan of the game. 16-0 is not the objective, but you don’t just rollover like that in front of the fans and on such a historic day as this.
jules62 - December 28, 2009
The reason the Colts are undefeated
is because of Peyton Manning, pure and simple. Why can’t you get that people? Yes, Polian drafted him. I would have too. It’s kind of a no-brainer. Polian has also had some busts as draft picks. I think he’s a good evaluator of talent overall, but he’s also a complete idiot when it comes to other issues. I’ll never forgive him for this debacle of a game. It would be one thing if the Jets derailed our perfect season, but instead Polian derailed it. How unbelievably stupid.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
thats what ive been trying to say its all peyton hes the team hes the coach hes the scout
the team revolves around him
805 - December 28, 2009
Of course it does.....
even an idiot can figure that out. Imagine Caldwell’s ‘success’ with Jay ‘interception Cutler at the helm? Or, perhaps Kyle Orton? QB’s like Peyton come along once in a lifetime. And, to intentionally keep the Colts’ machine from eating is criminal. If you’re undefeated and chugging along, why throw a monkey wrench into the works? Every year Polian tries to outthink himself and every year (save one) he’s failed. Getting to 14-0 is a rarity. But once we’re there, we should put the pedal to the metal and try to attain something memorable. A team wins the superbowl every year. Big shit. Only one team in NFL history has attained perfection.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
Hey 805!!!
Peyton Manning is not to blame here!!! Polian is!!! Peyton wanted to go for it like all of us!!! He wanted to be part of the Greatest Team in History!! You could see it in his facial expressions on the sideline!!! How dare you blame Peyton for this!!! This is Polian’s fault not Peyton Manning’s!!!!!!!!!
P0RKINS2 - December 28, 2009 via mobile
He's not saying it's Manning's fault.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009

You might have misunderstood the sarcasm in the post. I wasn’t trying to personally attack you.
P0RKINS2 - December 28, 2009 via mobile
oh alright ha
805 - December 28, 2009
Does anybody know...
If this was the first time in history an undefeated team pulled the plug on a game and essentially surrendered 19-0?
I know we didn’t in ’05… sure we pulled it after we lost but NOT before.
SuperNewb - December 28, 2009
It's never happened. No team would be that stupid.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
The Colts only care about the Super Bowl
they’ve made that clear. We’ve been fooling ourselves to think they gave the least bit of concern to anything else. You see it in their media policy too. If you want to watch the Colts try to win a Super Bowl then be a fan. If you care about other things too you have to deal with the Colts not catering to your desires as a fan.

Season tickets are awesome.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
so you saw the painful game live
805 - December 28, 2009
I got a good half of football.
The 106 yard KO return hurt more than anything else.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
more than caldwell shooting himself in the foot with polian shoving a broom up jis ass
805 - December 28, 2009
Yes.
Because that awful KO coverage could come back to bit us against Welker or Sproles in the AFC Championship game.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
*bite
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
THIS wedge should have been called by THAT GUY or HIM.
Wedge – having any more than two blockers within two yards of each other on the same plane in front of a kickoff returner will result in a 15-yard penalty.
sandtiger812 - December 28, 2009
wish i could go to one game :(, this is what happens when your in cal. not many opprotunities
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
yep only chargers 49ers or raiders maybe even cardinals
805 - December 28, 2009
Minus
when your team QUITS!! Amiright?
Of coarse I’m not right…but that seems to be the argument around here
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
Quit seems to be everyone's favorite
word around here.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
i say quit over me having an issue with the loss now that i have taken the time to think about it i have taken issue
two how the game was called when painter came in and i dont like what i found
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
I know
its like this team is 1-14 and has no playoff hopes…
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
I think
we’re even too negative for a 1-15 team. At least they would be looking for positives in the team and talking about who they’re going to draft.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
Very true
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
maybe
a 1-15 team without a first round pick?
sroha - December 28, 2009
There you go.
That sums it up nicely.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
WOOOOOOOOOOOW COLTSFAN FINALLY GETS IT!!!!!!! HE IS SAYING IT THAT OUR TEAM QUIT AFTER 5 HOURS OF ARGUING
805 - December 28, 2009
Again...
its sarcasm…one of these days I will quit telling you that I’m being sarcastic and you will have to figure out yourself
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
wow u got me back for getting you back
805 - December 28, 2009
neither one of you are recongnizing it from eachother gee fails all over, mostly 805 i think

TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
Still catching up.
I won’t get anywhere close though. Luckily I can sleep on the car ride.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
dont worry half of it isn't worth it especially the threads under this one (the two under it at least and the fanposts probably also)
nice always good if you can sleep on the ride how long is it??
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
8 or so hours.
I won’t sleep the whole time though.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
yea i never sleep on road trips just cant do it
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
oh look the guy we were talking about haha
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009

Brad Wells - December 28, 2009
This isn't exactly the only time our inseason vacation has altered the playoff race.
vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
i think i remember
BBS saying that people shouldnt complain about us letting Tenn. win and get in the playoffs two years back
sroha - December 28, 2009
be happy BBS
we have the best record in the NFL…we’d still get to use the blue uniforms in the Super Bowl :)
fpacheco - December 28, 2009
i like the white ones better
805 - December 28, 2009
I think I need to stay away for a bit.
This shit pisses me off.
I have a REALLY difficult time with the quitting thing.
peytonsthebest - December 28, 2009
me too man
Coltstar18 - December 28, 2009
Ha
*woman
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
I couldn't even watch SNF last night, I was so mad.
I’m having a difficult time with this myself. I KNOW I’m letting my pride get me down, the game was meaningless for us, unless you want to make history.
Indy Lori - December 28, 2009
I've just come to the conclusion
that perhaps I did care about the “perfect season” when all this time I thought I didn’t. I mean, as a Colts fan, I knew this was coming after we locked up the #1 seed. Their philosophy isn’t anything new. We usually just rest the starters in week 17, but I can’t tell myself I would have been ok with that either. I think it had to be one of the hardest decisions to make and I just hope that the players can get past it – can you imagine their disappointment?
The one positive: it should lock up Peytons record 4th MVP. Heck, even ESPN thinks so.
peytonsthebest - December 28, 2009
wow the ignorance in the statments by him is amazing and sad coming from someone in the organization with power like he has
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
What about the attitude of the other players on the team??
I know Freeney was in the game in the 2nd Half, as were other “stars”. I know everyone can’t sit, but does that send a message that, “we know we can’t win without Peyton, but if we lose Freeney, oh well”.
Again, taking it to the extreme, I know, but sports is so mental. I just don’t like it, these guys are wired different than the rest of us – win at all costs, the game is never over, don’t stop until the whistle, etc. etc.
Ugh…
John Bena - December 28, 2009
the part about freeney doesn't as he was being limited most of the game. but the mental overall from theis quiting
does. i know it has to effect there total team morale and that worries me some
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
SUPER BOWL?
I have never seen ANYONE in sports TRY to lose! What a bunch of pansies! Take our millions and then spit in our faces? I will never utter the name of that dishonorable team again, nor will I ever support them in any way imaginable! People! Do not forget that they spit on you and told you to go to Hades! Dishonorable, deplorable bottom-feeders! Losers! Losers! NO ONE GO TO THE GAMES – EVER! Get them a Mayflower and get them the * out of town where they belong! Their losing attitudes do not reflect my community! I would rather support the Lions who lose EVERY GAME yet go out and try to play their hearts out! LOSERS! LOSE LOSE LOSE LOSE LOSE LOSE LOSE LOSE to whomever you play in the playoffs!
danmcglaun - December 28, 2009
you signed up just to post this up?
fpacheco - December 28, 2009
tons of
“fans” came out of the wood work today just to post how pissed off they were. Is it annoying? Very much so, but what can you do?
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
wow you do realize it was this one guy or two not the players and not the whole team
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
That's nice.
vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
Randy Moss
You know, remember all the articles I’ve written dogging Randy Moss for quitting in a game, how is what Jim Caldwell did any different?
Brad Wells - December 28, 2009
im starting to think it was more polian although caldwell did as well
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
at least randy moss, straight up let everyone know from the starts he didnt keep them guessing
805 - December 28, 2009
Drama queens
I love this blog but this post was full of silliness. Fire Polian if they don’t win the SB? That’s crazy. I was not happy with the way they handled this against the Jets, but the drama and wailing and whining is insane.
JTBLA - December 28, 2009
There's nothing insane about it.
It’s called blogging and venting.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
I agree with both of you
Fire Polian, nah
but this a blog, we can be a bit uncivil here if we want :)
MarkFive05 - December 28, 2009
Agree
It’s the essence of blogs and being a fan. I was screaming at the decision at the time but now hours later I’m over it since the Colts chances of winning the SB did not change in the negative one iota and now we can be sure that they will be healthy since nobody of note plays much against Buffalo.
JTBLA - December 28, 2009
I just got the weirdest feeling of deja vu.
Thanks for leap-frogging my positive article so everyone can bitch about losing a meaningless regular season game, again.
KingRichard - December 28, 2009
I loved your post
KR…bravo. One of the few who are keeping this “ZOMG! WORLD ENDING LOSS” in prospective
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
wow you really need to let everything out we i know your mad, its bad to hold it in just vent man go nuts its fun
805 - December 28, 2009
I'm really not mad
Ive been around forever…3-13 seasons; Ive been there. 14-1 looks pretty damn good compared to that huh?
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
wow man at least pretend to be mad homie wow be on my side im like the negative and your the positive
805 - December 28, 2009
I respect that you try to stay positive
I really do, specially since I can’t find a way to.
BlueMark1821 - December 28, 2009
Here let me help you
we have HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE IN THE PLAYOFFS!!!! We have healthy player, something we havent had in a long time! It took the Chargers overtime to beat or banged up D…They are health now. The Super Bowl is what you need to look at here. 16-0 is nothing more than a dream now. Gotta move on. As much as you are mad and don’t want to, theres nothing anyone of us can do about it. So just take it, and learn from it, and go on. This is a special, special team. Thats something to be more than happy about
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
im not mad i just like venting, i got over the lose after 2 hours
805 - December 28, 2009
I get that
and hope they still win the SB, They can do it. My problem is, they could’ve done it while winning against the Jets and Bills.
Ok, they can’t. Guess it’s time to move on, especially since we can’t really do anything about it. Besides, I really can’t come up with anything new to say to you guys.
BlueMark1821 - December 28, 2009
I meant, "Ok, they won't"
BlueMark1821 - December 28, 2009
Go ask the Pats fans
I bet they would trade 16-0 for a Super Bowl…in the end that’s the ultimate goal
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
yes but they didnt quit in the superbowl, so at least it was a honorable loss
805 - December 28, 2009
of couse they didnt
and this wasnt the Super Bowl..so whats your point exactly?
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
THAT NO MATTER WHAT ITS NEVER OK TO QUIT
dont you understand that
805 - December 28, 2009
quitting
is admitting defeat…the Colts weren’t defeated. They made a decision and there’s nothing me, you, or any one else can do about it
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
so youre agreeing with me that polian and caldwell pussied out
and quit straight up
805 - December 28, 2009
look at the quote by polian some how he looked at the first half and gathered that we were losing and that
the jets were playing better how the hell does he get that??
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
hes old hes just old god it was one of those old moments
805 - December 28, 2009
It's an honorable loss?
A loss is a loss. Who cares whether it is honorable or not? We aren’t samurais here.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
wow that was liek 3 hours ago but ok at least they didnt wuit
805 - December 28, 2009
I don't worry about
time stamps when making comments. I’ve made comments 3 or more days after the original one before.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
AAAAAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH this is funny
805 - December 28, 2009
but why we have to think that being 16-0 means to lose the SB?
The Colts could’ve done it all.
BlueMark1821 - December 28, 2009
Anyway, ignore me
I’m going in circles really. Move on, go get that SB.
Go Colts!
BlueMark1821 - December 28, 2009
I don't think they couldnt have done it
but that’s A LOT of pressure to try to go to the Super Bowl with.
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
Why fear pressure?
Because of the media? Instead of pressure, why can’t it be ambition.
Besides, since when do the Colts care about the media and their thoughts?
BlueMark1821 - December 28, 2009
yep the cotls got no ambition or the front office
we got no killer instinct
805 - December 28, 2009
I wasnt even
thinking about the Media pressure. I was thinking about self pressure.
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
self-pressure?
what? I mean, what?
BlueMark1821 - December 28, 2009
If you got
a perfect season riding the line in the super bowl your gonna play hard to try to get it. Sometimes you can try too hard and end up screwing yourself. You get too antsy and start making bad decisions.
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
See... this is a terrible excuse
There’s gonna be pressure no matter what. I mean, I don’t know how to measure the pressure of one situation vs. another, but I tend to think that there’s going to be quite a bit more pressure to succeed in the playoffs now that they’ve botched this game.
Sports2 - December 28, 2009
Let me tell you from personal expeiernce
I played football in high school…My team wasn’t undefeated , but had 2 losses. We went to state pumped as hell and then when we hit the field we thought we were gonna just crush the other team….we played hard and then the QB started making mental mistakes. Throwing INT’s in the red zone and and receivers were running before they actually had the ball. Just little things that shouldn’t happen, but it did because it went to out head. We ended up loosing that game.
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
well yeah
that’s exactly my point. The Colts are going to be in a very high pressure situation no matter whether they come into the playoffs 16-0 or 14-2 or 15-1.
Sports2 - December 28, 2009
but the pressure
is greater with no losses…would you not agree?
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
No, I would not agree
Before there was pressure to be perfect.
Now there’s pressure to succeed to justify not trying to be perfect.
Sports2 - December 28, 2009
KR with a POSITIVE Post?
OMG what is this world coming to???
MarkFive05 - December 28, 2009
Well obvously
the World is ending…The Fuckin Colts LOST!!! Don’t you know what this means!! Hell has froze over! lol
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
It was a great post KR.
I keep trying to talk about the first half (you know the things that actually matter when the postseason comes along), but I’m getting drowned out by silliness.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
This is to the idiots out there that say it doesn't matter if they go undefeated!
Bah Humbug, You guys are making me defend the New England Patriots. The reason you play every game like it’s the last, winning Superbowls. I look at the games the Pats played and wonder why they would play their starters for 4 quarters and score as much as possible, winning Superbowls.
I am watching the news right now and if I hear “that was never our goal (16-0)” I am going to puke. Thats like people at work saying completing my work was never my job.
Today the Colts management quit on their fans. I have a question for Polian and the coach, How did resting your starters and not playing hard every game work for you in the past? I will answer that 1 and done………………………….
PolianSucks - December 28, 2009
Exactly
anyone who says 16-0 is not meaningful (especially when perfection was so close) is a fool. And, when we were ahead by 5 points in the game when the team was ordered to take a dive. One thing is for sure…..the Colts will not achieve perfection this year.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
16-0
wasn’t the goal….15-0 was and they didn’t get it. The team has taken the “one game at a time” approach from the beginning. 16-0 was the fans goals…not the team
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
whos paying the team the players the owner the coach and polian THE FANS
805 - December 28, 2009
15-0 was not obviously the goal
or, we would be 15-0 now.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
Bill Polian = The Old / Evil Grinch who stole Football Immortality
Yes, its true. Bill Polian is the old grinch who stole Christmas and football immortality from Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts. Its over. Its all over. Who cares if we win a Superbowl? Ya, it would be nice. But only 2 more after this one Peyton. Instead of destiny happening the old evil grinch steps in. Instead of football immortality a dumb, idiotic, gutless decision by an old man who would rather go out on his own terms than give into human nature and football hall of fame immortality forever. Even if we win the Superbowl this year, Bill Polian owes us 2 more at a minimum.
BlueLagoon_18 - December 28, 2009
God,.....you just put it so perfectly.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
Fans braved "inches of snow"??? ROFL!!!!
Oh my god, I about fell out of my chair when I read that…
the fans braved “inches of snow”??? Really? I cannot believe you guys are such pansies out there. We don’t talk about “braving” snow here until it gets into multiple feet…
I mean really….how could the fans be expected to get to the game when the city was shut down for days from a few inches of snow…
hahahaha…I’d love to take this guy and bring him to Buffalo when we are getting our patented 3-4 inch per hour snowfalls and see what he does…
MNasty - December 28, 2009
Hey!
I fell down in the snow on the way into the stadium. Hit a hidden patch of ice under the snow.
It hurt……somewhat.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
Id laugh at you
then see if you ok…
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
Thanks, I guess.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
No problem buddy
I’ll always help a friend!
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
Look at it this way...
Colts are going to lose to the Chargers in the playoffs in a couple weeks, so now we’re saved the embarrassment of going one-and-done after a 16-0 season.
indytoad - December 28, 2009
?
??
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
indytoad!
oh how we have missed you! welcome back!
MarkFive05 - December 28, 2009
Welcome back!
You are aware that the Colts can’t play the Chargers until the AFC Championship game, correct?
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
Wow...
taking this pretty hard.
T--Rac's Posse - December 28, 2009
wouldn't you?
Imagine being out of sync and still 5 points ahead……and then the coaching staff/management pulls the plug intentionally. It would have been different if our record was 12-2 going into this game. But it wasn’t. It was 14-0……with a good chance to go 19-0 and achieve what no team has ever done. Yes, I’m taking it hard. It was so unnecessary.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
I guess with my team at 7-8 and everything looking down, I think you all are overreacting
However, if it was my team, I’d probably be pissed as hell.
I know I wouldnt call for any of the front office or coaches responsible for one of the best decade runs ever to be fired though.
T--Rac's Posse - December 28, 2009
Peyton Manning's responsible for it, not the front office.
Manning accomplished everything in spite of the front office, not because of it.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
let it go ayshire, t rac has never had the sucess the colts have had he doesnt know anything
805 - December 28, 2009
let what go? There's nothing to let go
I’m just talking with T-Rac’s Posse. He’s just giving his opinion.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
alright man jeez im just trying to make this dramatic haha like a soap opera
805 - December 28, 2009
maybe the dumbest statement ever in evaluating this past decade for the Colts
are you kidding me?
T--Rac's Posse - December 28, 2009
Gotta agree
hell may freeze over because I just agreed with a Titans fan, but that was a pretty dumb statement.
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
Whatever. Don't underestimate Manning.
I believe he’s mostly responsible and I think your statement was pretty stupid to disagree.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
im confuse are you blaming manning
805 - December 28, 2009
No, I'm saying
that the success of the Colts this past decade is mainly due to Manning. Yes, Polian has done some good drafting as well as some bust drafting. But, having Peyton come up in the draft was phenominal and the rest is history. I’d hate to think where this franchise would be without Peyton.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
oh alrigh then
YEAH!!! MANNING DID IT ALL!
805 - December 28, 2009
Yes obvipously Manning is the key
But stick Manning on the teams Dan Marino had to play with his whole career and Manning isn’t winning any Super Bowls. Nor is he having a solid decade of 12 wins every season
T--Rac's Posse - December 28, 2009
Manning didn't have a defense
for the far majority of his career….not even a respectable one. Where was genius Polian then?
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
I didnt say he was a genius
But he is better at his job than 95% of the people in the NFL with the same job. How is this not obvious? How the hell is a TITANS fan arguing with a COLTS fan about this???
T--Rac's Posse - December 28, 2009
What good does it do
if his dumbass philosophy sabotages the Colts playoff run every year.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
What sabotages the Colts playoff run every year is the players not stepping up
MANAGEMENT isn’t on the field. MANAGEMENT doesnt catch the ball. MANAGEMENT doesnt play defense. I dont agree with what he did today.
But if you think hiring a new President who will have the players play all 16 games is the secret ingredient to the Colts going on a multi-Super Bowl run, then you’re crazy.
T--Rac's Posse - December 28, 2009
lmao!
A Titans fan defending the Colts! Well I never!
MarkFive05 - December 28, 2009
Sad thing is
he’s smarter about it than most Colts fans on here haha
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
wow i think jeff fisher is turning everyone to be colt fans
805 - December 28, 2009
It's hilarious
and heartwarming at the same time.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
No, management
just bends over during the middle of an undefeated run and takes the players out of their rhythm during the time of the year they need it most. And, no, you’re crazy. This idiot philosphy has never worked. Never. Yet, Polian sticks with it. I’ll even grant you that he’s drafted some good personnel, but after creating a regular season juggernaut, to completely sabotage their playoff mojo, is stupid.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
Can you stay over here
for another couple days or so?
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
I think that's a shortsighted and ignorant view only espoused by people who dont actually understand football
T--Rac's Posse - December 28, 2009
Well, I don't think you understand shit.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
that's because you are shortsighted and ignorant and dont actually understand football
T--Rac's Posse - December 28, 2009
good comeback
just what I’d expect from a sister fucker.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
nice. stealing insults from the Texans and tossing profanity around
You stay classy, Hoosierville
T--Rac's Posse - December 28, 2009
You're the one who started trolling over here
calling me ignorant because I think the main reason the Colts have been successful is because of the common denominator named Peyton Manning. Polian has some ability, but Peyton’s the main reason.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
Hes not trolling
He called you on bull shit and the only thing you can come up with is calling him a “sister fucker”
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
I can answer for myself
dont’ need your translation. I call it trolling.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
I don't think I am trolling at all
I came in and said that Bill Polian is better than 95% of the rest of the NFL at what he does. I said that the decade your team just had is nothing short of remarkable. The most “offensive” thing I have said so far is to say that Manning doesn’t deserve 100% of the credit for that decade.
Where is the trolling?
T--Rac's Posse - December 28, 2009
i'll take Manning
you can have Bill Polian. I’ll win more games than you over a short sample, medium sample, long sample, infinite sample.
SpazMo - December 28, 2009
true, but if you can have both, as you have
Why not take both?
T--Rac's Posse - December 28, 2009
you don't have Manning without Polian
MarkFive05 - December 28, 2009
jesus, really?
the colts had the #1 overall pick, polian didnt bring it with him.
Or are you saying that the only person on this earth that wanted Manning #1 is Polian? (hint: incorrect thinking)
SpazMo - December 28, 2009
No, that's not what I am saying
I am just saying it wasn’t a slam dunk. How do you not get that just a QB isnt going to win you 12 games in a row 9+ years straight? He also drafted a RB who led the NFL in rushing for several years. He also knew when to cut ties with this RB and draft a new one, who played great the year you won the Super Bowl. He also drafted Reggie Wayne and once again had the guts to cut ties with a legend in Marvin Harrison.
T--Rac's Posse - December 28, 2009
i was replying
to MarkFive05, not you.
I think there’s a better than 0% chance that the Colts take Manning without Polian as GM. MarkFive05, apparently, does not.
Polian is a good/great GM. He has made a lot of good moves. He has made a lot of bad ones. He does not walk on water. He has not brought such great and unmatchable success to the Colts that he can insult its fan base.
SpazMo - December 28, 2009
oh, my bad
T--Rac's Posse - December 28, 2009
hell we could of traded out of that pick
but the current management decided that Peyton was the best way to go and so you cannot have one without the other.
and besides, just read the last line of your sig :P
MarkFive05 - December 28, 2009
You didn't start trolling
until you said I was short-sighted, ignorant and don’t actually understand football. And, all because I was giving Manning more credit than Polian. Polian has done some very good things, and also some very stupid things. And, his philosophy of bending over and taking it up the ass in the middle of a game his team is winning (with a 14-0 record) is ridiculous.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
you didnt give more credit to manning than polian
you gave Manning 100% of the credit for the Colts successes over the past decade and Polian 0%.
Then on the issue of the Colts failures, early playoff exits, you give Polian 100% of the blame and Manning 0%.
You also never mention the other players who all had large contributions to both successes and failures.
Thats ignorant and shortsighted and shows a lack of understanding football.
T--Rac's Posse - December 28, 2009
No it's not ignorant and shortsighted.
And, I’m not going to go into the long list of great Colts that Polian drafted. There’s many great players in the league. My point is that Manning makes almost anyone around him great. And, I believe that you’re ignorant for not realize that. Just look at Garcon and Collie. Do you honestly think they’d be stars on other teams?
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
Don't
think all “Hoosiers” are like that most of us know what we are talking about. Most of us can appreciate what this team has done. We didn’t become fans after they were good and have become spoiled
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
I know, I know
Just making a point.
T--Rac's Posse - December 28, 2009
Yup, from Bloomington, and live in Muncie.
I started watching the Colts when they moved here in ‘84. Hell, we’ve got some people on here who’ve been watching them longer than that. THat’s fucking dedication.
vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
Thats what Im getting at
most people here are young and have been spoiled by the winning. I have learned not to take it for granted. And its not their fault when they were born, but do some research and look at how bad the Colts were at one time.
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
1-15 bad but that should give us the push to never want to be know as the good team that was to good to be the best
805 - December 28, 2009
It means that some of us have been around long enough to know how to react when something doesn't go our way.
Again, I love the passion, but perspective must be maintained.
vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
WOO!
Rec’d for common sense!
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
something that you havent had today coltsfan
im sorry to say
805 - December 28, 2009
Because Im
being realistic? And not throwing a piss fit because we lost?
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
wow am i throwing a piss fit for the loss no
ITS THE QUITTING I HAVE AN ISSUE WITH, wow cf723, you should never be ok with quiting
805 - December 28, 2009
Didn't we just talk about this a little farther down?
vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
its a hot topic
805 - December 28, 2009
No. The insults.
vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
oh i wasnt in that talk then i think
805 - December 28, 2009
Well,
I kind of did, but I have an excuse with only being 19.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
Oh and who was it that
drafted Manning? Remind me cause I forgot…
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
I'll remind you
Anyone with a brain cell with the first round pick…..that’s who.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
And who had the first pick and gave it up??
So obviously someone doesn’t have brain cells
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
Dont forget
It was a very legitimate debate at the time about whether Ryan Leaf or Manning should be taken. Many media members criticized the Colts for taking Manning over Leaf. It wasn’t as easy as people like to remember.
T--Rac's Posse - December 28, 2009
Yep
Leaf was a bad ass in college and that’s about it. Polian could see that Manning had it and Leaf didn’t…major props to him
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
I know plenty of people who wanted Ryan. That includes my father.
vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
Thank God
the Colts passed on that bust…he was pathetic…still is
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
You know, in the secret places of my little dark heart, I sometimes wonder what he would have been like here.
…but I wouldn’t change that pick for anything.
Seriously people, who would you rather have in the front office? Bill Toben? He was a winner… Perhaps you’d like them to dig up daddy Irsay? He was a great football mind…
vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
Wasn't he 1/15 for 4 yards and 3 picks
in one game?
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
That
sound accurate
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
Thank you for saying that.
This blog currently has no perspective, and I applaud the people (Shake, KingRichard, coltsfan723, and myself) who are attempting to provide it.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
oh i got perspective (how dont I) huh
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
Sorry.
I just haven’t noticed you as much in these series or arguments as the ones I mentioned. I don’t even really know your stance on the issue.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
yea not really sure anymore myself kinda ask coltsfan i have been sorta arguing a whole diffrent thing lol
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
He's pissed
cause the the FO isnt who we thought they were…
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
HUH?? Front office?? wow you have miss understood me this whole time wow even i know that isn't it
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
gahhh
Calwell is a pussie!! Fuck Polian was the general consensus here and you drank the kool aid.
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
i had a problem with the comments made by him which were pretty lame,
and yes with the playcalling, and with the horrible press conference by caldwell that only made it worse to me. idk ill be over it tomorrow :)
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
Nice reference.
Snuck that in there nicely.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
Remember it's not about the wins only Superbowls................How many do we have?
PolianSucks - December 28, 2009
exactly, his stupid philosophies
haven’t really worked out exactly well ….history has shown.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
This "Super Bowl or bust" mentality is really, really weak and stupid
So much luck and unpredictability goes into winning a Super Bowl. Do you think its a coincidence that the Colts and the Patriots are the top 2 teams of the decade and yet you could make the argument that the best team from the decade for both teams did not win the Super Bowl?
T--Rac's Posse - December 28, 2009
115 regular season wins
in 10 years are sort of hollow when they are followed by bitter disappointment. Im not negating everything or really anything that the Colts have done. Its kind of like with my children. I expect a lot from them because I know they can do it. I expect a lot from the Colts because I know they are special. But they are often let down by the ones giving the orders.
SpazMo - December 28, 2009
like when the titans went 13-0 and on the fourteenth they gave up, thats how a titans fan would take it
and on top of that all the players took of theyr jersey to show that theyr all wearing peytons jersey
805 - December 28, 2009
so everybody on the colts was wearing a Mark "Dirty" Sanchez hersey?
That’s rough…
T--Rac's Posse - December 28, 2009
yeah they were plus they went into the jets locker room to get their asses spanked by rex ryan
805 - December 28, 2009
Huh?
I never thought I’d read that sentence.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
hahahahahha keep going down and youll see more weird stuff
805 - December 28, 2009
Headline........."Jets beat the Colts in the Playoffs, go to the Superbowl"
How ironic would it be that the Colts let the Jets win and potentially make the playoffs. Meeting the Jets down the road and losing to them.
You always put your opponents away and not give them the chance top play you again.
PolianSucks - December 28, 2009
Would never happen
the Jets wont make it past the Wild Card Round
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
you never know mr positive
805 - December 28, 2009
They will have to play the Pats
more than likely…do you see that happening? They did it early in the year with Brady Bitch coming back from the knee injury
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
any given sunday, wow mr positive is not very optimistic
805 - December 28, 2009
Theres a difference
in being optimistic and having common sense
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
the bucs beat the saints the giants beat the SCARY UNDEFEATED PATS
so common sense doesnt apply
805 - December 28, 2009
The Saints have
been struggling for weeks now. They have had overtime wins against the Skins. They had to pull out a 4th quarter win against the Rams…the same Rams team that the Colts handed their asses too
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
the lions almost beat us last year thats all i got to say
805 - December 28, 2009
but they didn't. Contrary to East-Coast belief, there are no "virtual" losses.
vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
but you gotta understand how can someone tell everyone to calm down about something that was controlled when they dont belive in anything can happen to anyone
805 - December 28, 2009
Sorry, but all I see is someone throwing insults at said person wothout presenting any arguement.
vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
whos insulting who?
805 - December 28, 2009
mr positive?
It’s more like mr realist. You belittle his opinion, and don’t back it up with any facts.
vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
i didnt belittle him wow ur getting way to wet man.
were just blogging its not like im telling him to go die
805 - December 28, 2009
you want me to die?
I haz a sad!
=’(

THen you're just trolling? Carry on then...
vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
im not trollin, you are becaue you want to get an argument out of every comment
805 - December 28, 2009
The Colts
riding a perfect schedule either. They weren’t struggling against terrible teams in the weeks prior
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
I'll never think of Polian
as anything but a complete turd.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
Are you freaking kidding me
We complain and complain how the Colts have only won 1 Super Bowl, and now were bitching because were 14-1. We really have lost sight of the goal. If we lost in week 1, we wouldn’t be having this conversation. We are beating our team and organization up because we are to good but not good enough. What happened? When this season started we wanted a 2nd Super Bowl. Now, it isn’t worth getting?
Blueisgood - December 28, 2009
Jesus H Christ
no one is complaining about 14-1. How dense can some of you be. Where is ANYONE complaining about 14-1? No. WHERE. NO ONE is complaining about 14-1 (do i need to repeat it again or has it sunk in?) People are pissed off at the nut shot the organization pulled on the team and the fans. They QUIT in the middle of a game. It clearly wasn’t a plan to ‘pull the starters at half time’ since they, ya know, played another series. God, if one more person misses the point.
SpazMo - December 28, 2009
now were complaining about other things, but thanks for bringing it up
805 - December 28, 2009
What if Peyton had gotten hurt.??
Guys, you have to think about if Peyton had gotten hurt.
I mean, what if Peyton got sandwiched between two players and his leg got broken in three places like Theisman and on his way down he reached out his right hand and broke his wrist. What if Reggie Wayne was horse collared and injured his MCL, ACL, DCL and KCL all in the same play and then on the ensuing defensive stand, Freeney slipped on a banana peel that fell out of the OG’s back pocket and tore a hammie?
What would you think about Caldwell’s decision to leave in the starters?
Who’s the genius now? ….Burn!
Just leave the important decisions to the master-minds!
williezag - December 28, 2009
thats like 1 in a million chance
805 - December 28, 2009
what if Peyton got hurt last week?
Or against the Broncos, or against the Rams? That was a blow out, and Peyton was playing in the 4th quarter… WHY? What if Peyton got hurt in preseason? What if Peyton gets hurt at the probowl? What if Peyton gets hurt in a car accident? What if Peyton’s life has a kid and he loses his edge? What if there is world war III next year and there is no more tomorrow?
Who the fuck walks around worrying about injuries. They are part of the game. The moment you start letting that worry dictate your action, you’ve lost.
SpazMo - December 28, 2009
theres a risk of injury even when taking a shit and you dont see people freaking out
they shoulda let manning play
805 - December 28, 2009
you really goint go take this and run with this argument your title is more than i want your comment isn't worth reading
make a logical comment that makes sense your just trying to find reasons to say it was right get over it
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
OK, my first post here, but I gotta vent.
I’m stunned at just how badly the Colts just don’t “get it”. They deserved to lose and they deserved to get booed off the field like they did.
People fork down their ungodly amounts of money and cheer for a team not just because it’s there, but to be part of something bigger. To experience it, or witness it, if not be a part of it. To cheer on excellence. Victory. Success. And history being made.
Trotting out your second team and getting your ass handed to you, well that’s just a shameful way to blow a chance at history. I don’t care if they do win the Super Bowl. They suck.
Sports2 - December 28, 2009
i say polian and clswell deserved it but i dont think you can say that the players deserved it
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
i support the players
including Painter. I don’t support management. Fuck you guys. If there was some way to give you guys the middle finger but still support the team, I would do it in a heart beat.
SpazMo - December 28, 2009
I agree with that
But as a practical matter, there’s no way to separate out the booing for the clowns that orchestrated this, and they did need to hear it.
Sports2 - December 28, 2009
to say they don't 'get it' is an understatement.
and, that’s Polian.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
Maybe Peyton Manning had to get up early tomorrow to make another one of those
humorous commercials?
44FAN - December 28, 2009
Posted this on 18to88 and screw it...i'm posting here too because this is ridiculous
MAN you people are overreacting!!!!!
written by Ivan, December 28, 2009
Seriously….if you didn’t saw this coming….you should start watching some colts games….
What are you people mad at? Caldwell not risking Manning on the field with UGOH AS LT?(did you see that fumble what if it was manning…..and a bloody tackle right in the back??) Or maybe trying to keep the banged up secondary a bit healthy for a change?
Or perhaps trying to give the rookie QB some serious playing time against a good D that actually wants to wins this ballgame???
16-0….19-0….that’s crap….Sure…it WOULD be fun….it WOULD be historic…
14-2 with manning under center >>>>>>>>>>>>>> 16-0 with painter under center
You want legacy? Win a SB….Become the “Team of the Decade”….Have OFFICIALLY the greatest QB to ever play the game…..how’s that for a legacy??
2112_Ivan_2112 - December 28, 2009
you fail
1) the banged up secondary (ie: Hayden) played most of the game
2) on the sack/fumble, it wasn’t ugoh blocking the guy, it was santi (or tamme? it was #86) so it was a TE on an edge rusher, and not even one of our better tight ends.
3) Lets trot a rookie QB out with back up RB, back up WRs, back up TEs, back up OL (where applicable), against the #1 pass defense in the NFL, and in the shadow of his own goal posts, thats a good learning experience. Especially doing it in a situation where you know the crowd is going to boo. Good idea all around.
4) It has nothing to do with 19-0, 16-0, 15-0. Criticial thinking, where have you gone.
SpazMo - December 28, 2009
1 – Sure he played….he didn’t play for most of the season…HE needs to get ready
2 – I didn’t say that it was ugoh’s fault….even though he blocked the AIR in that play
But all more reason to take peyton out
3 – I agree that the timing was poor….Painter was thrown to the lions out there…
And my only complain was that one….play call for painter was pathetic….one drive we had a run and two passes to gijon
2112_Ivan_2112 - December 28, 2009
1. Uhm, you just said rest the banged up secondary. Other than Powers who was out and Bullitt, the entire ‘banged up all year secondary’ played.
2. You said
– was that not meant to imply that he was the weak link? If not, maybe you could reword it?3. So if timing, play calling and everything was poor/pathetic, how is this going to help him. He was a 6th round diamond in the rough that we just Joey Harrington’d.
SpazMo - December 28, 2009
OK.....
i’ll just change the order…..
“Caldwell not risking Manning on the field (did you see that fumble what if it was manning…..and a bloody tackle right in the back??) when UGOH was the LT?”
And guess what….let Bullitt play….he gets hurt….do we have a backup?
It’s really easy to judge when you know the outcome…..
I can only IMAGINE what you guys would say if manning left the field with a torn ACL…MCL…..or whatever CL you want
2112_Ivan_2112 - December 28, 2009
Look
I’m fine with letting everyone hurt sit out. That wasnt the issue. We could have won the game with Hayden and Lacey sitting out. But once they pulled Manning there was no chance of winning the game. If that was going to be the plan all along, then make it a set time period (1 half) and do it that way. Do not do what they did.
SpazMo - December 28, 2009
I agree....
I think they handled the situation…poorly
The fans didn’t expect that….nor the players
And that’s not right….
But you gotta admit that you people are overreacting…..
Fire Polian? That’s nonsense!!!!
“Resting players makes teams fail in the postseason” That’s stupid!! WE KNOW BETTER THAN ANYONE THAT THIS IS STUPID
If it was me….I’d rest the players against the Jags….OR let Manning in for one more drive…get the TD….call it a blowout….use the backups
But Caldwell made other calls before that we criticised (CJ for ugoh….) and he turned out to be right…..
The man won every single game that he actually WANTED TO WIN….he deserves our respect….I still trust him (feels pretty stupid saying that I trust a 14-1 team….who wouldn’t?)
2112_Ivan_2112 - December 28, 2009
I guess...
For me, as a football fan, it comes down to this -
Why are 50K yards/ Manning’s Consecutive Games Streak enough for the organization to have him start, but winning the game not important enough to have him finish?
John Bena - December 28, 2009
dont know you would have to ask polian
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
ha beat you to it

we dont know only those dumbasses do
805 - December 28, 2009
Why It was/is Important to Play to Win
1. A winner never quits – unfortunately our team’s management did today.
2. The players were loyal to the coaches and management – what about the reverse.
Look at the faces of the players on the sidelines. If the game upset us fans what do
you think it did to the players that have sweated day in and day out through hours of
hours of practice to be told in essence their opinion didn’t matter. Yea, I understand
football isn’t a democracy.
3. The fans who pay good money and invest their time and emotions deserve better.
4. I have been a colt fan for over 40 years and it was an imbrassment to see our management throw the game. In my mind this management has lost my respect and unfortunately I have doubts whether we deserve to win the Superbowl. Coaches like Lombardi and Greg Landry and yes even Bill Bellicheck are probably shaking their heads. They would have loved to be 14-0 and a chance at greatness. There has only been one team to go undefeated and although I hoped the colts would join the Dolphins, today’s decision to pull starters and thrown the game when all could see it was hopeless with an untested rookie quarterback and reserves playing is a disgrace to professional fooball in my mine.
I could add a lot more reasons but if booing a 14-0 team by loyal fans don’t send some message to mangement what will? And what happen to we play to win the game?
ColtFan47 - December 28, 2009
As an unbiased fan looking from the outside in on this, I feel that this was read way too far into.

805 - December 28, 2009
I guess, for me, it goes deeper than Manning getting hurt. That could happen if he slips in the shower tomorrow, or on the set of his next commercial – playing ping pong with Justin Timberlake might be more lethal to Manning seeing how often he gets hurt on the football field.
If the Colts want to protect him, then do it, dammit, don;t be half-ass’d about it. Bench him, the whole game. The hypocrisy is what the fans should be pissed about, not the fact the Colts are no longer undefeated.
The Super Bowl is the goal – but let’s look at the different scenarios and see which is the worst, of the non-Super Bowl winning possibilities -
1. Manning plays, Colts lose. No matter, the Colts get credit for going after history.
2. Manning plays and gets hurt – Yea, that one would suck, and there would be some back-lash, but the people who know football – coaches, players, knowledgeable fans – would know that injuries are part of football. Only mindless media members would dwell on it, just to sell papers and move the dial. Football Logic, as Polian likes to say, is predicated in numbers. Well, the numbers say, since Manning hasn’t missed a game, ever, that the likelihood of him getting hurt is slim. Or, for some reason, the risk is greater in the 3rd Q than it is in the 1st and 2nd.
3. Manning is pulled, Colts lose in Playoffs – Holy hell. That is the crusher. That backlash in this is likely to be much greater than the backlash to a Manning injury. Football, rightly or wrongly, is often compared to battle. Be injured on the field of battle is always better than turning tail and running away.
Of course, any scenario that has the Colts winning a Super Bowl will be alright with the fans, or will it? If the Colts win the SB this year, would the knowledge that they could have re-written NFL history be enough to chap your ass? Maybe, maybe not. We’ll never know for sure, and for me, not knowing is much, much worst. I hate What If!
John Bena - December 28, 2009
Forgive the typos...
Very late in the eastern timezone and I am typing on a netbook keyboard. My apologies!
John Bena - December 28, 2009
i dont care about history or any of that
i care about condoning quitting.
SpazMo - December 28, 2009
Another vaild point as well...
John Bena - December 28, 2009
when i watch football with my kids in the future ill never ever let them watch that game, ill never want them to think that quitting is alright
805 - December 28, 2009
yes people are not understanding that it is the quiting i got the issure with not the lossing in particular
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
yes
im a cubs fan, IM OK WITH LOSING. TRUST ME GUYS, Losing = way of life, I got it. I Have a major issue with quitting.
SpazMo - December 28, 2009
dont get me wrong i hate to lose but this anger is over the quiting i cant stand a lose cause of a person quiting but
if you play hard and lose at least it is a little easier to swallow
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
some people dont get that and they think weer pissed that we lost and stuff im over the lost im not over quitting and ill never be
805 - December 28, 2009
You forget the one that I'm counting on:
Manning pulled, Colts win Super Bowl.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
or
Colts quit, out in first round of playoffs.
I’ll take bets on which is more likely.
SpazMo - December 28, 2009
WOW!
Just came home from Philly-Denver game and people were giving me shit for our teams performance and i didn’t have anything to tell them. I really am embarrassed.
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
No reason to be embarrassed
your team is still 14-1 There’s are fighting for a playoff spot and in the NFC and has no effect on the Colts play right now
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
How about the fact that neither of those teams will be playing in Feb?
vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
Philly has a better chance
than Denver and Indy, most likely. Although if you gave me Denver, Philly + Indy vs the field, I’d take the field 100% of the time.
SpazMo - December 28, 2009
Yea, but those fans don't know that. They're just fuckwits.
vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
Why shouldn't you be emarrassed.....
Our coach let the NY Jets beat us.
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
The Jets Starters
beat the 2nd and 3rd string…whats is there to brag about there?
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
Um...
You did not play your starters when you had a chance at glory….
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
Let me ask you a question
what does 16-0 promise you? It promises nothing but that you won’t go 15-1. It doesnt guarantee an Super Bowl. See the Super Bowl 2 years ago for any more info you might need
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
its the pride in you achivments and polian and caldwell didnt give a fuck about the players achiving a goal like that
ps i cant belive you thot i wanted you to die your messed up

sarcasm button installed.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
agree
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
I made one!!
a while back…you can haz it if you want it
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
Someone is always guaranteed to win the Super Bowl. To win out is immortal and to forfeit that feat thinking your sacrificing for the greater good is stupid.
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
LOLwut??
are the Lions guaranteed a Super Bowl right now? Are the Rams guaranteed a Super Bowl right now?
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
you never know
805 - December 28, 2009
see the secret to a super bowl is
you must make the playoffs…neither of the above teams have a shot at the playoffs. Every team could loose out and still they wouldn’t make it. The only thing they are guaranteed is a early draft pick
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
the 1-15 dolphins didnt have a shot at the playoffs look what they did the next year
the 3-13 colts didnt have a shot and look what they did the next season YOU NEVER KNOOOOOOWWWWOOOOOOOOWWWW
805 - December 28, 2009
Im talking about this season
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
woooooow i pulled that same response on you a while ago and you didnt give a crap, so once again any given sunday and you never know
805 - December 28, 2009
I dont get your
argument…what does any given Sunday have to do with shitty teams that have no chance at the playoffs…enlighten me!
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
ok ok ok here it goes ahem im enlightening you this instant
any given sunday means that it doesnt matter who the fuck you are the hypothesis of how you think something is gonna turn out is never certain, dam havent you seen the movie any given sunday
805 - December 28, 2009
No I havent
but at this point in the season “any given Sunday” doesn’t apply to teams like the Rams, Lions, Skins, Raiders etc…they are out there to play spoiler right now, that’s it. They have no chance at the playoffs.
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
hey jets are a shitty team and they arent playing spoilers theyr playing thank you for quitting and well comeback and kick you ass in the playoffs game
805 - December 28, 2009
Shitty team?
they have the best running game and the best D in the league…that’s hardly a shitty team
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
offensively a shitty team
805 - December 28, 2009
on the passing mostly but they been playing bad teams also
805 - December 28, 2009
We shut down their run game
pretty well in the first half. That was a mild surprise.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
yay we did good aginst the run for the most part
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
The secret to a Super Bowl is
Someone wins one every year. To win out is amazing, That is why we remember the 72 Dolphins. I wish the organization would acknowledge that and give this team the opportunity to go down in history. Alas, that time is up.
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
This is not ment as an insult
and will not be used against you, but how old are you?
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
that the jets got what they wanted, n made caldwell and polian look bad
805 - December 28, 2009
anybody can win a superbowl.....
It takes some shit to go undefeated. And it sucks when your coach says that that feat means nothing
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
like saying that all those comebacks were meaning less
805 - December 28, 2009
Finally, someone really gets it.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
i would have gone for the 16-0
b/c i hate the bi-planes and i want mercury morris to just STFU….i wish he would OD on cocaine.
no one gives a shit about the 72 fins who had the easiest schedule back then.
And it wasn’t like Manning was getting hit or sacked during the game.
NinjaZX6R - December 28, 2009
you guys alredy did
805 - December 28, 2009
i actually want the colts to go 16-0 so another team could prove that the 72 fins are irrelevant.
NinjaZX6R - December 28, 2009
wanted we cant do that no more thanks tho, i like the patriots going balls to the wall
805 - December 28, 2009
I think as close
as the 3 teams have come…they are pretty close to irrelevant. They played less games.
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
suck up
dolphinsinbuffalo - December 28, 2009

heshe did that “back” in the dayNinjaZX6R - December 28, 2009
lol yeah he's from the 70s what can you say.
dolphinsinbuffalo - December 28, 2009
sadley they didn't even try in the least to win when painer came in we ran the ball 3 I REPEAT THREE times
with painter in the game. there is no way you can expect the 3rd string QB in him first NFL game to throw the ball every down and get you the win. normally when you try an give a guy experience you try to take pressure off by running it they did the opposite of that.
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
thats why people say caldwell lost us the game on purpose
805 - December 28, 2009
i know play calling was horrific i have never seen anything like ti
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
why would u put ur 3rd string rookie qb against a blitizing happy team?
Manning should have had one more drive…if wasn’t like Manning was getting hit or harassed
NinjaZX6R - December 28, 2009
we alredy discussed that if manning had put us up JUST ONE MORE TOUCHDOWN i woulda been ok
805 - December 28, 2009
I doubt you would have been OK
with it. Mostly because we still would have lost.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
no because we woulda been up 22-10
805 - December 28, 2009
Not a big enough lead.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
he was our only other option because sorgi went on IR and they didn't get a vet off of a practice squad or anything.
just none of it make sense at least make logical play calls you dont run 7 times in a half three times with a rookie QB and honestly think you are going to win
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
we shoulda ran the ball with painter to kill the clock wow caldwell your a dumass
805 - December 28, 2009
They did run
and got no where…Painter was out there with no receivers…that’s like throwing a soldier in the middle of a battle with no gun…the guy didnt stand a chance
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
well we didnt run at the righ time
805 - December 28, 2009
huh?
you say run and they did and got no where now its not the right time?
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
no that isn't right 805 problem is they didn't try to run very hard they ran three times
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
well thats what i said but cf723 is so dam good at twisting thots you evil evil person
805 - December 28, 2009
what you said about the right time wasn't accurate 723 was fine to call you out on that one
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
oh yeah his always right when he calls me out and im too alot of the time but his better at being persuasive
805 - December 28, 2009
no but it wasn't a matter of the timing it was the matter of not doing it enough
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
samething if we had done it at the righ time we woulda done it more often
805 - December 28, 2009
we did it more often we would have succeeded cause we would have hit a right time
we were just passing with painter way to much
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
yep
805 - December 28, 2009
ill repeat it again they ran it 3 (THREE) times.
obviously they didn’t try running it much. no not great recievers but they were not the issure at least baskett wasn’t and santi if he was there the problem was the jets just sat back and waited cause they knew it was going to be thrown
and againt the rookie that is like putting him in the middle of a battle after giving the other side the battle plans
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
thank you angels i need some back up
805 - December 28, 2009
And got NO WHERE!!
why keep going to something that wasn’t working? If they ran every down and never moved the sticks they would have still lost…get it?
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
yeah but it wouldnt have been so embarrasing and we coulda kill clock
805 - December 28, 2009
agreed
poor running (and blocking) caused the three and out Painter 1st series.
Poor running and an incomplete forced a passing down in the 3rd series
only in painters fourth and fifth series was their a time when we could have ran it and choose to pass. Besides the only way we were moving the ball was pass
sroha - December 28, 2009
so then the next three drives you just give up on the run with a rookie and expect sucess??
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
You gotta try something
they had their first team against the Colts second. Painter had good throws and Baskett had good catches…it was at least moving the chains
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
really painter had good throws?? sorry no he didn't cause he only had people open a few times
because we didn’t run it to open it up at all. come on if your consistently having to throw into double coverage and triple coverage there is an issue with what your doing run the stinken ball
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
na in the second half i think commitment to the run hurt us. we were doing ok in the first half running
but gave up on it in the second, you would think that if brown wasn’t getting anywhere you would try one of yoru other running backs which they didn’t either
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
Of course
we were running ok in the first half..the freaking starters were out there!!!
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
yea and since they were not the second half they gave up on it with no cause three plays does not
provide valid cause to give up on a key part of the game that puts a player with no experience int he worst possible position. they didn’t help painter they hurt him
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
really in almost a half running three times and not getting anywhere and you say ok give up on it???
that is a recipe for disaster you dont run three times in a half basically and succeed. basically they handed him the ball and said go throw the ball and win this for us its all on you and your facing the #1 D. dont worry that it is your first career start and you dont have any experience. look i am not blaming painter but i think that caldwell and the play callers did horrible and did not help him.
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
Donald Brown was stuffed
every run he got when Painter was in. Can’t run when it’s ineffective.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
yea they only attempted it three times with painter i say you cant throw every down no matter what wise your screwed, mabye we
were anyway but at last if your doing both you got a better chance not that we were going to come back once we lost the lead
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
Question
I don’t live in Indiana so I don’t know too many Colts fans beside myself, but do people think that this game (assuming they lose in the Playoffs) will turn out to damage the Colts popularity in any way?
I personally don’t blame the people from this thread who say they are dropping the team. Why spends hundreds or even thousands of dollars on tickets each year to be pissed on by the organization? I wouldn’t do it.
Props to the guy who said he would rather root for the Lions who suck but at least try.
ThanksALot - December 28, 2009
i think it wil i mean going 16-0 would have attracted so many new fans
805 - December 28, 2009
i dont but it will affect polians popularity and mabye caldwells
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
People are clearly overreacting.
The Colts have an unpopular philosophy right now, but they didn’t give up. They don’t want their QB to throw 600+ passes for a perfect season. I don’t mind him being fresh. And he’s playing a desperate blitzing team.
agradecimiento a dios - December 28, 2009
Exactly
the Jets were already taking early cheap shots at Manning.
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
really you dont think they gave up what were you watching
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
I was watching
a coach take out the stars of this team to keep them from a freak accident that would screw them in the playoffs.
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
look im moving forward from the pulling them and rest isn't my issure like i have said it was quitting and i have moved to
the bad play calling
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
As someone who actually does live in Indiana, I don't give a flying fuck about bandwaggoners.
They just leave as fast as they arrive. They were 49 fans in the 80’s, Cowboys fans in the 90’s, and Pats/Steelers fans in the current time. They don’t know shit about football and are just tourists.
vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
Classic case of immediate
overreaction. Give it a couple days, and you’ll get over it. I’m already over it.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
Ehhh
he signed up just to take a massive shit on this blog. Doubt he’ll be around much anymore
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
thats the guy who said i was a troll >:(
805 - December 28, 2009
i thought it was the other guy or both
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
nah just that dumbass
805 - December 28, 2009
Just Saying...
The Colts are a small market team and really lost out on the opportunity (purely from the business side of things) to attract new fans.
I think all this “screw you, fans” think is insane. I mean aren’t the fans the customers in the NFL? Aren’t we the ones who fund this league? We spend millions and millions of dollars each year to cheer on our team and in this instance the team just shrugged, whipped out its collective dong and urinated all over us.
Could a normal business get away with treating its customers like that? I’m pretty sure they couldn’t. Oh well.
ThanksALot - December 28, 2009
another brilliant move by Polian.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
seriously its like saying get your shit and get out when you go into walmart
805 - December 28, 2009
Thanks Bill
DolfinPhan - December 28, 2009
Opinion from a Pats fan...
…Caldwell made a veteran leadership move as a rookie. That’s usually not acceptable with the other veterans in the clubhouse. It’s his first season and a lot of fans are still being convinced (I know, even after 14-0) that he is the new head coach after Dungy was the main man. He made the veteran coach’s decision to sit the players and prevent possible injuries. However, he’s still a rookie and it was obvious that the veteran players were wondering who he thinks he is (they are who we thought they were!) to prevent them from obtaining history.
Another wishful thought from a Pats fan, is that this now creates a rift between Coach and Players. Caldwell is still too young as a coach to start going against the established players (ie: Eric Mangini style) and he might lose his players.
That said, we’ll see you in the playoffs.
Richard Hill - December 28, 2009
As someone who greatly dislikes the Patriots, and all cheaters in general, let me just say… at least you guys went for it. Cheaters? Yes. Jerks? Sure. Quitters? No.
ThanksALot - December 28, 2009
Agreed
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
yep everything the pats have done is tainted but they tried
805 - December 28, 2009
Why
degrade a guys team because he gave an opinion? is it necessary? really?
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
i like u lol
NinjaZX6R - December 28, 2009
ehh
I have been arguing my balls off all day, but clearly Manning and Co. health in the playoffs weren’t as important as a perfect season. Do me a favor…remind these people what 16-0 gets you…go a head…tell em
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
i would have gone for the 16-0 b/c i HATE MERCURY MORRIS AND DON SCHULA
but trust me, after watching my 06 perfect buckeyes get anal raped by the gators in the 06 bcs title game and my 07 pats 35 seconds away from perfection….trust me those games get to u.
both my teams have lost since then, but those two games bother me even till now..prob will till i die
it sucks. if the pats had to go 16-0 nxt year, i rather have them lose a game or two and win a SB than lose in the SB.
NinjaZX6R - December 28, 2009
Haha
exactly what I have been saying the whole fucking time! 16-0 means nothing! Just that you wont go 15-1. It doesn’t guarantee a Super Bowl
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
its funny how a blogger who created an account yesterday is calling u a troll. lmao
NinjaZX6R - December 28, 2009
who called 723 a troll i didn't see that?
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
no one they were calling me a troll
805 - December 28, 2009
yea thats what i thought lol
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
Ehhh
Ive been around for a while…Im here everyday. Spend more time here than with the family (sad huh?) They’re perception of me has no effect. Youd be surprised at the amount of people that crated an account today just to be a bitch

TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
I like you.
Can you stick around too?
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
i agree also hill should come around more often
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
lol i dont like the colts but i RESPECT them and i rather see the colts go 19-0 and even any other team including the jets ( i just threw up) go 19-0 just to watch mercury morris croke on coke
NinjaZX6R - December 28, 2009
yea even the media dislikes him lol (is that possible lol)
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
but hes got one cool as name
805 - December 28, 2009
should have been " cocaine morris" or "coke morris"
NinjaZX6R - December 28, 2009
mercury crackhead morris i like it
805 - December 28, 2009
Thank you!
for your input…it echoes mine. Minus the loosing the the locker room. The players knew this was coming. Its not like it took them by surprise. Manning said the coaches told them at the half their time was limited. Their competitive side wanted to play, but thats no different than any other time they get benched
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
no i dont think it will cause a rift that is wishfull thinking but it does affect there morale at least going into the next game hopefully
he will handle the next game better. which shouldn’t be an issure cause most starters wont play mroe than a drive and if they do then i dont know what to think
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
Thanks for your perspective. I don't think he'll lose the team. This isn't college.
vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
wel jeff wasnt too happy hes the only one that didnt hold in his emotions and clearly said he wanted to play
and we dont need jeff being cranky hes the whole o line basically
805 - December 28, 2009
After the 4-2 call, did the Pats fold up tents and pout? I'd like to think that the Colts are made of the same stuff.
vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
NO CUS THEY TRIED TO WIN IS IT SO HARD FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND THEY DID NOT QUIT
805 - December 28, 2009
You mean when the defense was basically told by their head coach that they weren't good enough?
vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
tell me something DID THEY QUIT
hey belichik was by all means necesary type of mentality by that time
805 - December 28, 2009
trust me worst D ever since 00
NinjaZX6R - December 28, 2009
The Pats
were going all out to win a game. That’s the big difference. I absolutely hate it when management neuters a powerful team. That’s exactly what Polian is doing.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
why can we understand and they cant?!?!!??!
805 - December 28, 2009
Oh look, it's the same tired "glass is half empty" arguement.
vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
oh look its the same guy not getting it in his head that our team quit
i think ur in denial
805 - December 28, 2009
If only
you knew what a loosing season was…
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
i know man i know what a losing season was my hs team would suck so bad last time they lost every game
so i know im tired of losing
805 - December 28, 2009
Words of Wisdom
take this advice and put it in your pocket and save it for a rainy day…you ready for this?
You can’t win em all!!
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
what about the one you can will you give up
thats what the colts did
805 - December 28, 2009
You might be able to
it you make an effort to.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
what i just said
805 - December 28, 2009
Im done
arguing Manning and Co. health over 16-0. If you don’t get that we are still a great team, then you never will.
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
i get that we are and WE ARE NOT ARGUING ABOUT HEALTH OR UNDEFEATED SEASON WE ARE ARGUING CUZ THEY GAVE UP
805 - December 28, 2009
Any greater than...
Every other team that has ended up with a similar record at the end of the season? Face it. We went for mediocrity and we got it.
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
yes we very much are still a great team
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
And I'm sure you're trolling.
vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
u dont get it in your head that your the one trolling im just saying something and you go and say the opposite
805 - December 28, 2009
Ahhh.....that's the million dollar question.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
hill is a good guy giving his opinion he said nothing wrong guys
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
I certainly don’t think he has. Seems to express his perfectly valid opinion well without being obnoxious in any way.
…Which makes him different from 95% of all Patriots fans I have ever met.
ThanksALot - December 28, 2009
trust me
i went to the 07 colts pats game…and most colts fans were bad. hell they even booed a 12 yr old girl bc she was wearing a T Brady jersey.
but guys like coltsfan723 and shake and bake and few others have changed my negative opinion of the colts fans.
NinjaZX6R - December 28, 2009
Wooo!!`
I did a good thing! I can die happy!
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
but not soon i mean i still need to argue with you about future games homie
805 - December 28, 2009
one section of fans that i hate the most??...penn state fans...no class
they threw bags of piss into the buckeye section couple of years ago….i would have snapped all those f**kers necks if i was there
NinjaZX6R - December 28, 2009
Texans Fans are the worst
they haven’t had a winning season in 8 years and they think they have some kind of privilege to be asses. One said “just give them time, they will be good” My response: “You’ve had 8 fucking years!! How long do you need?!?!”
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
That was the '07 Colts-Chargers
playoff game.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
no it was the 07 pats colts reg season game
NinjaZX6R - December 28, 2009
I have season tickets to the Colts.
It was the Colts-Chargers playoff game. They were announcing the run, pass, and kick winners.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
Caldwell has been with the team
since 2002. No rift is happening there.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
wow that comment is way up there lol
yea i think he was just hoping but he already knew that
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
seeeeeeeeeeeriously dam
805 - December 28, 2009
Losing a game at 14-0 because you want to rest starters....
is more embarrassing than losing to Tampa Bay while legitimately trying in my opinion.
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
Agreed
ThanksALot - December 28, 2009
It's absolutely assinine.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
fuck
of we dont win the superbowl im gonna end it all… so frustrating
zkmavz - December 28, 2009
and what do you mean by ending it all
805 - December 28, 2009
i mean i am joking about killing myself
but what i really mean is…
i will do my bet to withhold most judgement… but if we dont wint he fuckin superbowl i want shit changed… i want polian not to be fag and i want a head coach that isnt a freakin poos that bends over for a dude with bad ideas
zkmavz - December 28, 2009
yeah!
805 - December 28, 2009
We put Curtis Painter out in a game.
You guys aren’t embarrassed about that?
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
Nope
Painter needs experience…who else you gonna put in there? Willy? The guy who has 0 experience with the Colts?
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
we coulda gave joseph a shot
805 - December 28, 2009
We could have signed Sid Luckman too.
vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
and get him hurt behind
a bad o line? no thanks
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
wow cf723 today is not our day, we cant agree on anything haha

alright enough with calling people trolls
coltsfan is NOT a troll…someone that has been posting on this site for just as long, or longer, than you is NOT a troll.
i don’t know why you are still doing this coltsfan, I gave up hours ago, lol

well same rules apply then
MarkFive05 - December 28, 2009
so who are you saying stuff to him or me
805 - December 28, 2009
wow there it is the word associated with quitting :(
805 - December 28, 2009
Ehhh
Im wide the fuck awake and got nothing better to do. Im happy as lark that my team is in the playoffs with home field advantage throughout. Im happy with 14-1. Maybe I’m just drunk, but Im happy!

vintagephoenix - December 28, 2009
oh my fuckin god like your not
805 - December 28, 2009
no
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
What do you mean who else?
You keep in your starting quarterback. The one you pay millions of dollars to do his job. And mind you this star quarterback wants to be in and be a part of hostory
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
Manning
threw for 50,000 career yards today. And did it in the shortest amount of time. You wanna risk that guy that makes millions to get hurt and cant play in the playoffs? All for 16-0?
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
Yes
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
I want 50,001 yards....
I want Peyton to throw for 8,000 yards and 80 touchdowns and go down in the books as the best there ever was without a doubt. I don’t want him on the sidelines saying what he has done already is plenty enough.
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
well then stop bitching
Manning got 50,033 today…that’s 32 more than you wanted so be happy!! Smile!! It’d good for you. and it takes less energy to smile than frown
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
u actually use 30 something muscles to frown
805 - December 28, 2009
and how many to frown?
sroha - December 28, 2009
thats it 30 something and i think like ten plus to smile
805 - December 28, 2009
haha i meant smile, getting tired
sroha - December 28, 2009
Yeah
you are missing the 192 total yards today
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
?
?
805 - December 28, 2009
I took the comment
as you only thought the Colts had 33 passing yards today, when in fact they had 192
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
makes sense
///tries to make him feel goo but know it is useless
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
How do you feel like goo?
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
sorry nazi sir forgot the d at the end of goo to form the word good :)
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
i still dont get it
805 - December 28, 2009
you never will
you never will…its ok..
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009

you fail 805 you must figure it out
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
aw!
805 - December 28, 2009
ha!
805 - December 28, 2009
oh yea he is going to get hurt now just cause he is playing like he has all his career and being protected very well.
where was the risk any greater today than it was the last twelve years??
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
Sound reason
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
Did you not
see the cheap shots from the Jets? That’s what gets a player hurt
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
and whats new happens to him every game. i understad resting players and such and im going to stop cause i dont
feel this is worth arguing nor is this the real issue i got
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
no just upset about the play calling once he was put out there
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
And yet
we will all go back to loving Polian when he finds us the next great gem in the draft come April.
7_Painter's_First_Fan - December 28, 2009
How did you feel about Painter?
I’m actually curious here.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
Truthfully
He did ok for his first time on the field VS the best Defense in the league. I mean you can’t expect Manning Jr. to walk out there and blow it up.
The INT was a bad read on his part, but the rest of his throws were on target or close enough for the reciver to catch. The pass to Santi across the middle for 22 yards was as good as a pass Manning could make, then following that with the fleaing the pocket and finding Baskett on the sideline for a 7 yard gain was great.
The Sack/Fumble I don’t really put all the fault on him. Learning to feel that comes from experence, which he hasn’t got yet, Cause the speed from college is a hell of a lot different than Pros. On that play Santi completely whiffed on his block VS the Jets best pass-rusher. That’s almost as bad as just letting him go free, like they did to Freeney twice.
7_Painter's_First_Fan - December 28, 2009
Alright guys, I'm putting a lock on this thread
There will be no more new posts after this one. I command everyone to stop bitching and go to bed.
(engages imaginary lock on thread)
There now go to bed
MarkFive05 - December 28, 2009
Whoa.
I thought you were BBS for a second. Had to double-check there, because he can do that.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
Alright,
I’m going to bed. When I wake up tomorrow, I know I’ll still consider the Colts management to be a bunch of dumbfucks…..which they are.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009

coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009

805 - December 28, 2009
Challenge Accepted!
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
it was
awesome….greatest feeling beside sex lol.
but 5 weeks later my team lost, my grandpa died, my ex cheated on me and i got orders to prepare to get sent to Iraq (all in 2 weeks before and after the SB)
worst two weeks ever in my life except for the iraq part.
NinjaZX6R - December 28, 2009
My ex
was a Pats fan…but damn she was great.
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
its like a forbiden fruit u know its wrong but you want it
805 - December 28, 2009
she
had good fruit..it was by no means forbidden!
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
yeah? like watermelons? or what do you mean ha
805 - December 28, 2009
hmmm
sexual innuendo went right over your head….did you see it? look, there it goes!
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
wow im not that slow i just pretend tomake it funny
805 - December 28, 2009
my last two ex gfs were steeler fans
so is my best friend…so annoying
NinjaZX6R - December 28, 2009
Ehh
I got use it to it. You kinda get over it when everything else is great
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
well i bet it was great stickin it to them when the pats would beat the steelers
805 - December 28, 2009
yep in 07 but not in 08..but that was w. 2 different chicks
in 07 it was awesome b/c of anthony smith aka mr. guarantee and watching his ass get owned by brady on 3 long td
NinjaZX6R - December 28, 2009
sorry for ur lose, for ur ex and for u being a pats fan
that woulda never happend if you were a colts fan
805 - December 28, 2009
lol.
NinjaZX6R - December 28, 2009
u alright...... for a pats fan
805 - December 28, 2009
Wow.
Everything just fell apart there. Man.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
Your being
a boob right now….just be happy this team is 14-1! Just for a minute! Teams would kill to be in this position
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
Yes they would...
And they would also kill to be 15-0. I think that is the point you are missing.
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
This is a double response to you and Angelsfaith...
ok…but what are you or any one else gonna do about it? There’s nothing no one can do to change what happened, so why not look forward and be thankful we are even in this situation
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
for future maybe if we get in this position again maybe polian and caldwell wont fuck it up again if theyr still here
805 - December 28, 2009
Caldwell
will be…and Polians son will be…so yes they will still be here
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
im sure all be past this tomorrow about the play calling as long as it isn't brought up again but since it will
i will have to wait till probably mid week :). i try and im sure tomorrow we will have less than thsi unless BBS goes off with a whole bunch of threads on this game YIKES
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
I doubt BBS will have an article
not referencing the resting this entire week. Good thing I won’t be here to see it.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
im expecting 10 and wish i wasn't here to have to confront them ill try and ignore most of them if i can this week which with
grandparents in town hopefully will help
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
like the raiders literally
805 - December 28, 2009
the fact we lost isn't what im harping on. 14-1 is still great i agree
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
random I MISS EDGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
805 - December 28, 2009
That Seahawks game was
awesome. It was great seeing him in action live again.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
Wish you guys thought
perfection was something to strive for.
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
wish you
would look past this shit and focus on Miami
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
lets focus on the lowly bill first and look past no one even if the game is meaningless being meaning
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
I'll bet anyone here $100 that
Peyton only plays 1 series against the Bills. It’s a done deal.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
to late i already have been expecting that to be what happens as i said earlier if it doesn't
then ill be shocked
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
Let me guess....
You live in the Midwest? Possibly Indianapolis?
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
Nope
Indiana though…been a Colts fan for a LOOOOOONNNNG time…I appreciate what they have done without becoming spoiled
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
Well I was born in Baltimore.....
And i appreciate my team in the face of haters all the time…..I don’t ever take this team for granted. And that is why I hold them to high expectations.
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
Shit
if 14-1 are low expectations then I resign as a Colts fan right now.
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
Missing the point...
They did not try for 15-0. I was a weak outing.
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
Why are you so shocked??
You act like this has this team has never pulled starters before
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
just didn't like how they did it, the way they did it wasn't how they normally did it, i think that is what makes
people say they quit (me included mostly) they did it how NE did it the diffrence was we were ahead which i think was the other issue and it wasn’t by much.
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
I'm aware of what
they do traditionally. I am just of the mind frame that it is a bogus idea and they should rock out and go for it all.
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
Weigh the outcome
Risk P money or go 16-0 and chance loosing in the playoffs. Ill take P money!
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
when has "p money" ever been
consider risked. he is resilient and you should have faith
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
p money has played 12 seasons in the same conditions as today so i didn't see any more risk today than any of those other times
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
The Jets
are blitz happy little fuckers…one good hit and he could be done.
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
same with the ravens over most of the decade. i just think that really the risk is just as great today as it was each and every game.
i do understand wanting to protect the quarterback but i think there is a line to be drawn. idk why im doing this again huh new topic
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
I have "faith"
which is why Im not making a big deal over a loss!
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
You should have faith.
And thus not doubt his ability to play 4 quarters.
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
Tony fucking Ugho
was watching his blind side with Brown picking up blitzes…not the best combo for avoiding a sack.
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
Ugoh has been there before.
And still he has been sacked the least in the league. It is what it is. Plus Peyton can throw off a sack no matter the situation.
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
Peyton
goes into the fettle position when he sees a sack coming
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
Exactly
He won’t get hurt. He sees it coming.
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
After all
he’s a decent quarterback
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
Decent?
The guys a beast…when he has time. But the Jets were taking cheap shots…did you miss that part or just try to avoid it?
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
everyone gets cheap shots.
you take it and progress because you are phenomenal
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
Welcome
to the wonderful world of the Northeast. We want everyone to hurt.
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
wow bad wording not going to get the response you want, watch your wording lol
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
i believe that...he did that in 07 when mike vrabel went for the sack.
NinjaZX6R - December 28, 2009
No point to taking the hit
when you know you’re going to be sacked. Smart QB play.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
Especially not this loss.
I think we’ve all determined that we would have won the game otherwise with the D only giving up 3 points at that point. The Colts are still the best team in the league.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
Unfortunately,
we’re used to this short-sightedness. It’s what Polian and company does…..including his puppet coaches.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
Like I said...
Teams have had Miami before. What makes you think that if we take it this year it will be any more significant?
DEColtsFan - December 28, 2009
what you talking about??
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
i think Miami=SB win
sroha - December 28, 2009
We are mad but
none of this will matter if we win the Superbowl or does it give more fire to fans because then we could have been undefeated? Interesting. I think either fans my be pissed how this year is ending. I love the Colts and I hope we win the Lombardi and I will forgive them.
TouchdownColts - December 28, 2009
if we win it all no one or hardly anyone will have an issue and if they do they are dumb.
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
aaahhhh at least the trolls are gone :)
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
no im still here
suposedly im one accodring to some guy, but it was fun with all those trollers

805 - December 28, 2009
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

805 - December 28, 2009
yay after two fails you succeed on half of it :)
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
its not ok to fail like you said
805 - December 28, 2009
yep and we are over 550
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
I'm still working on my share.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
Ok, time to suck it up
Going undefeated and winning the Super Bowl was unrealistic and still is for any team. Winning the Super Bowl isn’t out of the sights and you should all care more about that than some stupid record or if your coach “quit” or not. Get real and look to bigger things.
dolphinsinbuffalo - December 28, 2009
hey dolphin :) it should get better tomorrow if not come back and say ti right now we have moved on to just messing around
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
Ehh I don't know.
dolphinsinbuffalo - December 28, 2009
I have never
EVER argreed with ANYTHING you have said…but that is one thing I will agree with.
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
finally some sense has been knocked into you.
haha no but it is stupid for people to sit here and whine about the coach quitting on the team or whatever when there are bigger goals in sight. If anything this loss takes a lot of pressure off the Colts.
dolphinsinbuffalo - December 28, 2009
Wooo!
Another thing I have stated already! We better quit agreeing or people will start to think things…quick say something that I can disagree with!
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
uhhhh hmmmm ehhhh
I rather see Brett Favre win MVP, although a meaningless award. So no MVP for Peyton? (although not a likely concept, just something for you to disagree with)
dolphinsinbuffalo - December 28, 2009
Booo!!
You suck GTFO!!!
//kidding of course
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
hahahahahha
exactly. Now we are in total disagreement once again.
dolphinsinbuffalo - December 28, 2009
sorry dolphinsbuffole
805 - December 28, 2009

805 - December 28, 2009

coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009

805 - December 28, 2009

dolphinsinbuffalo - December 28, 2009
manning should win the mvp
brett favre is a favring joke..
NinjaZX6R - December 28, 2009
i think rivers is winning it if he has a ridiculous performance against their last opponent
805 - December 28, 2009
This game
proved Manning “Value” (look at that word think it has something to to with mVp?) to this team. This should have put the nail in the coffin for everyone else who thought they had a shot
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
yeah but remember that everyone else is not as smart as us
805 - December 28, 2009
The voters
are…the Media doesnt vote.
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
i think they will do the correct thing and give it to manning
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
They have no choice
if they dont they know the MVP will turn out to be a joke
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
still i got a feeling manning will get fucked like the fans did today
805 - December 28, 2009
really if it was the media voting id agree but it isn't
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
hey is cass and coltsfan from the east coast?

NinjaZX6R - December 28, 2009
I never was
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
Nope.
I never was either. While other people were booing, I took the opportunity to watch Painter closely. He did pretty well for the situation he was thrown in.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
both of you are in indy so the same time zone both of you have 4 right??
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
No..
Im in southern Indiana
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
oh the time zone is split in the state?? i see
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
Yep.
It’s 4:30 here.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
You know it.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009
or him too...i think it should be manning or rivers
NinjaZX6R - December 28, 2009
if manning played all today or all next game i say then it is sealed
stil think it is but it doesn’t help that rivers will play two games more basicly
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
completely agree
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
You're an idiot too.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
i hate mecury morris
i like the fins bc they plays us tough and its all mutual respect between two teams but man, morris is annoying
dude, only time today i was cheering for u guys was when Henne threw the bomb to Ted Ginn only bc i love my Ginn and even though i hate michigan, i still like Henne.
Though Chad Henne is a joke lol
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8bzZEtOcb8
NinjaZX6R - December 28, 2009
lol I don't even like Henne
but I was just kidding around with you. I wasn’t alive in 1972 so what happened then only matters to me as much as it has to as a Dolphins fan.
dolphinsinbuffalo - December 28, 2009
Thanks for that.
No, seriously.
Cassieper - December 28, 2009

I just dont understand....
Ok so if the plan all along was to bitch out and destroy the momentum into the playoffs like every other year that we clinch a first round bye then why did we play the whole game in week 15? Why would you have Freeney and Mathis play when their injuries were fresh but not when they had a week and a half break? Now why play more than 3/4 of the game, take the lead, and give it away? Polian you are a fucking idiot.
If we pulled out last week I could understand this desicion. But no we played all 60 minutes and went for the win. DONT DO THAT TO YOUR FANS. After the jags everyone got the idea that we would finally go for perfection. After the half it started to solidify in our minds. And then you stab us in the back.
Fuck you Bill Polian. Caldwell you have earned youre sliver of a bar in Madden 10. and as far as I am concerned Mr Irsay you are the biggest pussy I have ever seen. Maybe if you grow some balls analysts may not look down on the colts and we may get another ring or two but until then dont you dare show your face in public, you should be ashamed.
- RJ - - December 28, 2009
Hey I get it, but people still need to realize the greater records we are breaking.
Manning is breaking records every day, we can’t have him busting his arm on 600+ passes at this age, and in this kind of season. I completely understand why we rested, we just should have had a more veteran backup out there who could at least score some points, move the chains.
There’s no way I want to peak early like the Patriots, which is what happened to them that season. They ran out of Gas, I want to keep this thing going. As nice as 19-0 is, we have even greater goals and records that we are challenging all the time.
agradecimiento a dios - December 28, 2009
There wasn't a peak...
…it was a “catching on” by opposing defenses. That’s what’s happened with the Saints and that’s what might happen with the Colts in the playoffs.
In 2007 (and still now), defenses realized that in order to stop the Patriots you needed to be able to pressure and sack Brady with JUST your D-Line. You needed to keep your LBs in the middle of the field to prevent passes to Welker underneath and you need your secondary to double Moss. The Giants, Ravens and other teams that got close matched up well against us.
That same defense applies to the Saints and Colts this year. Weak O-Line play by the Saints were their downfall as good pass rushing teams started to catch on (Still can’t explain the Bucs). The Colts’ O-Line is just too strong for D-Line penetration which allows Manning to reach his receivers every time.
Unless a team gets strong enough to get by the Colts’ O-Line, Manning will put up points.
Richard Hill - December 28, 2009
Pocket QBs like Peyton have a history of not getting sacked.
The Offensive line is clearly not great, or we wouldn’t be last in rushing.
Manning has avoided sacks all his career, with different offensive linemen.
Peyton is just great with the ball, it is the more mobile QBs that are always running into sacks at a high rate.

TEAM
This was not a team choice, but it was and if you did not notice that sideline image, a damage to the team. It is all right to get personal records, but never at the exspense of the TEAM. Payton, Reggie and Dallas I love you guy, but stop and think about the lineman who prtects you who can not get records, this WAS THERE record to be a part of the UN defeated team. You all or chickens and I am not happy about it at all, and for Pollian buddy you better find a hole and bury your rude errogant ass mouth in it.
Lastrangerider50 - December 28, 2009
This was a mangament decision.
The players had nothing to do with it, don’t make it sound like they did.
agradecimiento a dios - December 28, 2009
Dang, 800+?
I didn’t read all of them because…well that’s crazy. I was driving home listening to the game on Sirius. We were winning at the time and when I went inside I put the GameCast on and say the “C. Painter pass complete to H. Baskett for 9 yards” and sighed and turned it off.
Look, it’s one thing to lose a game that you tried to win and and had your faults exposed. It’s only by losing while trying that you actually become a better team. Why even show up and have the Jets fly to Indianapolis? Just forfeit the game if you believe that losing, for the sake of losing, is the way to go.
It honestly almost seems like he did this on purpose because he couldn’t handle the pressure. But that wasn’t only a big middle finger to the fans, how do you think Curtis Painter felt? Yeah, I understand getting your rookie playing time in case gasp Peyton goes down, but you just put the kid in a situation where the game was almost a “Here you go Jets!”
Here is the apparent logic we maroons can’t understand : Well, if we go 16-0 like we easily should or could have, all the fans will EXPECT us to win the SB! That’s crazy gibberish. This is what we’ll do; we’ll throw the game so that we lose to a lesser team and everyone will know in the back of their minds that we should have won that game. So then we’ll be 15-1 or we’ll really go out of our way and just play the marching band in the second half and throw the game to the Bills and be 14-2. That way the pressure’s off and if we lose in the playoffs people can’t freak out!
That’s the “problem” with football. The “problem” is that anything can happen on (I hate to use a cliche that they made a bad movie out of but whatever) on any given Sunday. The difference is, playing and having a weakness exposed allows you to work on it.
Think of it like any college class or any sort of training. You get 100% on every assignment, every pop quiz, every test etc.. but you decide to skip the last three weeks of class. (Three weeks due to the first round bye). You pack it in, turn your mind off and just daydream about holding your diploma and getting the blonde cheerleader named Susie away from that asshole Fernando! You have the degree now! Everyone will laud you and shower you with affection and the praise you so rightly deserved for so long! They will bow down like MINIONS! MINIONS I SAY! MUAHAHAHAHAHA!
You hunker down into your desk and the professor hands out the test packets. You have a smug smile on your face and you turn around to Susie and keep mouthing “Elephant Juice” to her and winking slyly. It doesn’t matter that your overall grade has dropped to a B or a C from missing the last 3 chapters, you’ve got this. I mean, you got 100% on your tests like it was nothing.
So you start filling in your bubble sheet, your inner monologue telling you how amazingly and overwhelmingly awesome you are. You make up your mind that Susie will refer to you as Mr. Awesome, half man, half amazing while she cooks in nothing but an apron. You turn the page over to the second part of the test and….“OH SHIT! I didn’t know they were going to ask THAT!” Frantically you flip through the last part of the test, only now realizing that you have absolutely NO CLUE what the difference is between yams and sweet potatoes is! None of this makes sense!
You start sobbing into your hands as the time runs out. Hands shaking with tremors or guilt and shame, you hand the tear soaked pages into Professor Dangle. He was your biggest fan, he knew you should have gotten 100% on not only the test, but the entire class if you had only shown up. He doesn’t understand why you’re sitting there weeping like a little girl so he flips through the test book and notices something strange… Apparently your subconscious mind had taken control and clear as day, when the bubble sheet is turned sideways it spells out “I AM A DOUCHE”.
Sniffing back your pride, you wipe your tears away and see Susie chatting it up with Fernando. Totally unaware that the good professor has pulled out a summer school remedial Home Economics form for you. You don’t even realize in your haze of confusion that Fernando taped a piece of paper to your back that said “Punch me in the back of the head.”, until you round the first corner and everything goes black…
Sorry Bill, I know why you did it. And it wasn’t to rest players. All I can say is that you’ve just raised the pressure on the Colts and yourself to win to the 10th degree. That’s all I have to say.
monstersbox - December 28, 2009
Well, well, well...
BBS this is the best article you have ever written. Period. All the “in Polian we trust” crap on this board…I have never understood it. The reason the Colts are great is because of Manning…not Polian.
Last week I criticized Polian and the way they handled the Gonzo injury and took a lot of crap from some on here. I have never liked Polian, and never will. In the “classy” organization that is the Colts, why is Polian the front man? Makes no sense..he is a jack ass.
BBS, you are absolutely right that if the Colts don’t win the super bowl…the fans will and should run him out!!
My guess is he will retire when Manning does…
TRDean - December 28, 2009
You're right that the franchise is Manning.
That’s why we shouldn’t be killing him by making him throw 600+ passes, which he has never done before and was on pace for. I completely get the move.
agradecimiento a dios - December 28, 2009
Manning is on a throw count...
in practice…they control his passing numbers there…not in the games. Sorry, but that excuse is just that…an excuse.
TRDean - December 28, 2009
Sorry but practice is not game action.
You’re getting hit on various passes, whether you get sacked or not. And he’s not in his 20’s anymore.
agradecimiento a dios - December 28, 2009
never said it was game action...
you said passes not hits…and he is not getting hit that much anyway. I never did cotton to laying down and quitting and I never will. I am not sure what Polian is trying to prove? It sure as heck isn’t because Manning is throwing too much.
TRDean - December 28, 2009
If this were flag football maybe I'd understand. But it isn't, there's always wear and tear.
Manning isn’t even 100% right now, why would throwing 600 passes not be somewhat risky though?
agradecimiento a dios - December 28, 2009
the passes have nothing to do with it. 600 passes who cares he is capable of doing just cause he hasn't done it
because he hasn’t had to doesn’t mean he cant. pluse it aint like he is doing it in one game plus he has thrown less of late anyway
TheAngelsColts - December 28, 2009
after he's throroughly destroyed the Manning years.........
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
I thought injuries beat us the last two seasons?
Had to go on the road because of the injured start, then the season before that similar issues.
We were given a chance at this, make the most out of your pitch count. We can’t be risking it further because you know he almost averages 40 passes a game.

Pollan and losing
Obviously the Colts (Pollan and Irsay) have not changed their thoughts since they were in Baltimore. They did not care about the fans when they moved from Baltimore and they do not care about the fans in Indianapolis either. Peyton Manning deserves better than this also, he has given his heart and soul to that team and they just through him under the bus also.
all of this controversy though may make the Colts want to show people they can still win.

In Chicago
Morning Colt fans. I am worried that we could head into the playoffs on a two game losing streak. Buffalo is a rough place as far as the conditions are concerned. Snow, brutal cold, rock hard turff, and a team that looks at this game as their entire season.
chihoosierguy - December 28, 2009

Lacey played a good game. This kid was playing defense right up till the end!

I will repeat once more the term TEAM
Like I said before this perfect season would have been for the linemen, the very back bone of our TEAM, for if not for them Payton would not beable to do what he does. It bad enough that our running game sucks and we need a true running back again. Because Joseph is not the answer for that. He’s lost his game, if he ever really had one and it was not the line giving it to him. The perfect season was for the grunts on the line people, that give them there record or records that the Manning, Waynes and Clarks get. There right to brag and be remembered. But instead of giving them that honor, he get the ones who can because of there grunt work, thier records. What a pack bunch of shit. If I was a linemen on the team, I would still work my ass off for that super bowl ring this year. But I would leave the Colts if i was a free agent or when I became one. Because I have just been shown I do not matter, although it is because of me and my fellow linemen protection we got here and we are not at all consider in the equation of beable to have our names remembered or honor for being the best of the best. So answer that one Pollian, our for that matter those who believe in Pollian we trust BS.
Lastrangerider50 - December 28, 2009
Lamey exacerbated the issue
I don’t think I would have been have as pissed driving home through that horrible weather had Bob Lamey not spent so much time criticizing the fans from his FREE seat.
He honestly thought they were booing Curtis Painter, versus the situation.
I try to like the guy, no matter how poor of a play-by-play guy he is, but he is just completely out of touch. All he did was throw gas on the fire by inciting the fans.
I just wish they had bent over for Buffalo, versus screwing the Indianapolis fans. These boys better win it all now.
LaHoosier - December 28, 2009
Wow...
Bob Lamey is the coolest fuckin dude on the planet. The guy is great! I turn the TV down when the games are on and listen to him. No reason to hate on him. He’s as a big of fan as any.
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
As a Steeler fan, of course I wanted the Colts to win!
It’s definitely our own fault, and we shouldn’t have had to count on anyone winning or losing to get in. As an NFL fan, it is beyond me why the decision would be made to lay down when your team is about to accomplish something truly awesome! I really feel bad for Colts fans! So, pardon my French while I speak on your behalf:
FUCK YOU POLIAN. FUCK YOU IN THE BUTT WITH A BIG OLD FIST UNTIL YOUR RECTUM HEMORRHAGES!
Cdsumm - December 28, 2009
Also polian's wisdom Hah
Anyone can find good player with the scooting team he has out there. He miss’es as much as he hits, could we name a few miss’es. hell yes.
Lastrangerider50 - December 28, 2009
All Around Bad Move.
First, I am sick of all the “What if Peyton got hurt?” garbage. Peyton can read the blitz like no other QB I have ever seen, and let’s be honest here- He’s no weak little petunia out there. He’s tough. Let’s not also forget, he wasn’t the only starter that was pulled from that game.
Second, as for “resting” your players, that is ridiculous. In my opinion, the primary reason we have historically been a one and done playoff team is because we come into the playoffs RUSTY. Why are we rusty? Because if we can afford it, we always rest our starters. You cannot convince me, no matter your credentials, that an entire month of rest is good for a team.
Stupidity is not trying something and failing. Stupidity is trying the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results.
JennyG - December 28, 2009
heart
The thing we’ve been playing with all year thats made us successful is heart, and last night i feel the players were punished for it, being forced to watch the catastrophe that unfolded. I also feel that the second string was punished and shouldnt feel that the fans were booing them, they were booing the decisions being made upstairs. Its really a sad situation all the way around
livinblues - December 28, 2009
who cares about 16-0?
People are forgetting one important thing. Who CARES about being undefeated if we don’t go to the Super Bowl? IF our key players are injured and we lose in the playoffs? The Patriots went undefeated and then LOST in the Super Bowl. Lost. So all of this anger to me is ridiculous. They didn’t rest. They played 3 quarters. Should they have quit? maybe not, but they ultimately are looking to go to and win the Super Bowl. Undefeated means nothing without it, just ask Patriot fans. I bet they’d trade their 16-0 season for a Super Bowl ring. And how many games did the Colts lose the year we won the Super Bowl? 5? Undefeated is nice, but again, I’d much rather win the Super Bowl.
spoilermaker92 - December 28, 2009
I'd rather go undefeated at 19-0
which would include a superbowl victory. But, we’ll never know if that was possible now, will we? Polian robbed the players of that opportunity.
Ayrshire - December 28, 2009
Hilarious.
I’m sure Don Shula really felt as though he had to choose between going undefeated and winning the Superbowl in 72. The two have little to do with each other, aside from the fact that it takes a great team to do either.
If you honestly think it’s one or the other, you are simply superstitious, and that’s no way to play a football game.
JennyG - December 28, 2009
AND
… they didn’t play 3 full quarters. They played two and one series.
JennyG - December 28, 2009
not superstitious
Not superstitious at all, just reminding people that the thing that matters most in football is the Super Bowl. I don’t like the timing either and would have loved to see them win. I just think people are too quick to jump off the bandwagon and bash the team, when we should support them all the way.
spoilermaker92 - December 28, 2009
Let them jump!
the wagon if full enough! Ive been around for a long time and all these newbs are taking up my seat and they are the ones getting pissed. I need breathing room, and I’m claustrophobic. Let em go. If they are pissed about this, clearly they are spoiled. I know what a 3-13 season feels like. So 14-1 is damned good for me!
coltsfan723 - December 28, 2009
The Colts wonder why the get called "soft"...
Did Polian and Caldwell get a crystal ball to know that Peyton, et al., would be fine for the first two quarters, but tragedy would strike in the third quarter. That’s why it’s stupid to believe that line of crap. And how did that work out the last time the Colts decided to forfeit the rest of the regular season?
meaty rojas - December 28, 2009
Again Team, the word TEAM and TEAM pride
I had a little more time to think about all this and still feel as I stated all along. Although I have a few though to add to it now. Would this have been a bad dicision “if” this was not Chris’s first time, first year with the OL and the team itself? Are even if he would have had the oppertunity to take all the snaps in pactice coming into the game? Even though Reggie is our star reciever, the rest of or recivers all the way down to Hass, are excellent, and Anthony being hurt allowed them all to get playing time and become even better. Yes I want to see more of Hart and brown, because we need a true running back, sense Joseph is truely not the answer at that position. We need a true backup to Dwight as when he not there we go from a excellent Te to zero Te position. We’ve pooled some good Db this year, but still lack the strong position in that area and either need Bob to step up and play without getting injured, or trade him for another strong hitter in the like of Bob, Troy and Ronnies of the league. I think our defense with one more year togather and the return of Bob or a trade or free agent pickup to replace Bob with the same abilities we will have a domanate defense for the next couple of years. So as a team can we do this again next year, I think we can, but there our move that need to be made. But stop and think about this if you would, would it have been different with Jim in there instead of Chris? You bet it would have, he been with the team. He practiced with the team and he knows the team better. So his bullshit playing hurt or acting hurt from carrying a clipboard cost this team that win. Because with Jim I think we would have won that game, not only that one, I think Payton could play one series in Buffalo and Jim could have come in and still beat Buffalo. But what the hell, Pollian you are an ass and need your ass kicked for sure. Chris is going to be a good QB in the pro, dam good one, but not the first years out and you dont throw him to the lion (Jets number 2 defense) his first year out of the gate. For that you are a DAM FOOL.
Lastrangerider50 - December 29, 2009
pull your head out BBS
He only said the same thing he’s been saying all year. When did anyone in Colts mangement SAY they were going for the perfect season? If Polian and caldwell polled the fans before every roster move this is what we would have:
1) fat ass ed johnson not making tackles,
2)no Joseph addai who was cut because he “danced too much at the line”,
3)a hurt donald brown in his place who as an injury-prone rookie missed 1/4 of the season anyway,
4)benched garcon in favor of hank baskett who’s taller but slower and might have WORSE hands
5)signed 32 year old edge for sentimental reasons even tho he’s too slow to run the stretch play that made him famous
There’s a reason you’re blogging and not coaching. Explore that in in your next post. 14-1 is a pretty good record
